Anime The World Is Dancing has shared new information for its July 2026 airing. The title released a new PV teaser, featuring new illustrations from Kazuto Mihara, and updated cast and staff details for the anime adaptation.
The latest information on The World Is Dancing also gives us a clearer picture of the characters that will be present, the direction of the story, and the production team handling the series.
The World Is Dancing Releases New PV Teaser
The World Is Dancing's latest teaser PV has been released via the official YouTube channel. The video features Oniyasha with dialog that highlights the main question in the story, which is the reason why people dance.
The trailer also shows Oniyasha's relationship with Kan'ami, her father. Some of the other characters involved in her story are also shown in the video.
Anime is scheduled to air from July 2026.

Synopsis of The World Is Dancing
The World Is Dancing is set in 1374, when the conflict between the Northern and Southern Courts is still ongoing. The story follows Oniyasha, the son of Kan'ami from the Kanze group, who keeps thinking about why humans dance.
In the midst of my sarugaku world, Oniyasha goes about her day with questions lingering in her mind. The journey then connects with the figure who would later be known as Zeami and the development of the art of Noh.
New Illustrations and Kazuto Mihara's Commentary
Kazuto Mihara also shared a new illustration to celebrate the anime's latest announcement.

In his commentary, Kazuto Mihara said that he felt both surprise and happiness when he saw this work in anime form. He also mentioned that this story is not an absolute answer, but one of many possibilities that can be born from the same story.
Kazuto Mihara also revealed that the anime will feature characters and scenes that do not appear in the manga.

Cast details and key staff for the anime have also been announced. CygamesPictures is handling the animation with Toshimasa Kuroyanagi as the director.

Tsumura Reijiro's name was also highlighted in this announcement. He is a Noh actor from the Kanze genre who handles the part of Noh Choreography. In his comments, Tsumura Reijiro called his involvement in the anime depicting the story of Kan'ami and Zeami a new page in the Noh tradition.

The World Is Dancing is adapted from Kazuto Mihara's manga published in Kodansha's Morning magazine. The manga runs to six volumes and covers Oniyasha's journey before she became known as Zeami.
The English version of the original manga is also available online via Kodansha US.
The anime is also scheduled to appear on AnimeJapan 2026 which takes place at Tokyo Big Sight on March 28 and 29, 2026. The World Is Dancing will be featured at the Shochiku Anime and CyberAgent Anime booths. In addition, the series will also hold a talk event with Yumiri Hanamori and director Toshimasa Kuroyanagi at the TOKYO MX booth.
