CookieRun is back in the spotlight with the announcement of CookieRun: New World, game Devsisters' latest open-world adventure for console, PC, and mobile. CookieRun: New World is scheduled for release in 2029 and is developed with Unreal Engine.
This announcement comes in Devsisters Online Showcase which also contains several other updates for the CookieRun franchise.
In the same series, Devsisters also introduced CookieRun: Crumble, CookieRun: Kingdom Chapter 2, CookieRun: OvenSmash, and CookieRun: Braverse - A Game of Truth and Deceit.
CookieRun: New World Is the New Open-World Game from Devsisters
CookieRun: New World was introduced as the latest open-world adventure game in the CookieRun franchise. The game will be released for console, PC, and mobile.
Devsisters have called CookieRun: New World as the most ambitious title in the franchise to date. Its release target is set for 2029, coinciding with the 20th anniversary of the CookieRun franchise.
The CookieRun franchise has now recorded over 300 million players and generated over US$1 billion lifetime revenue. This data was shared along with the announcement of the new game.
The Story of CookieRun: New World is set after the Five Heroes Era
CookieRun: New World takes place after the Five Heroes era. The story follows a new journey on the Cookie continent as a mysterious darkness returns.
This setting forms the basis of the initial story introduced for the game. CookieRun: New World was also the title that brought the franchise to the open-world adventure format.
Other Announcements at Devsisters Online Showcase
In addition to CookieRun: New World, Devsisters also announced several other titles and updates in Devsisters Online Showcase.
CookieRun: Crumble
CookieRun: Crumble will be released for iOS and Android in the second half of 2026.
The game was introduced as a casual title that takes inspiration from the idle RPG and casual mobile genres, with a more relaxed and accessible gaming experience for a wider audience.
CookieRun: Kingdom Chapter 2
CookieRun: Kingdom Chapter 2 will be the next big story era for CookieRun: Kingdom.
This new arc centers on a major event that splits the world timeline and triggers a war between the various timelines. This update also brings new regions and speeds up the main story cadence from every four weeks to every two weeks. This update is scheduled to arrive in May.
CookieRun: Kingdom will also get a collaboration with K-Pop Demon Hunters in April.
CookieRun: OvenSmash
CookieRun: OvenSmash was introduced as the first real-time player-versus-player battle action game in the CookieRun franchise.
Players will form a Cookies team and compete in three-minute matches across six game modes, with role-based abilities and Spell Cards to influence the course of the battle.
The game is set in Platter City, a new urban-fantasy world built around the Oven Crown Cup tournament. Ahead of its launch on March 26, CookieRun: OvenSmash has recorded over two million pre-registrations.
CookieRun: Braverse - A Game of Truth and Deceit
The latest booster set for CookieRun: Braverse is scheduled for release on March 27. The expansion features 243 regular cards and 61 hidden cards, including Shadow Milk Cookie variants in five colors.
The set also brings two new themes, Realm of Apathy and Land of Fire & Ruin. The expansion also adds Extra Card, a new mechanic that lets players stack cards onto in-play Cookies for stronger follow-up plays and new comeback opportunities.
Globally, Braverse TCG has distributed nearly 80 million cards since its debut in Korea in 2023.
With this announcement, CookieRun: New World is the centerpiece of Devsisters' new move for the CookieRun franchise.
At the same time, the Devsisters Online Showcase also showed that CookieRun's development runs on several fronts, ranging from open-world adventure, mobile game, to trading card game.
