Japanese Feature Phone Version of PAC-MAN
PAC-MAN that will be released is the version that was originally made for Japanese flip phone (feature phone) - device that was popular before smartphones dominated the market. This version is different from the original arcade version released on 1980 by Bandai Namco Entertainment.
It is important to note that this release does not add new elements such as additional language support or achievements that didn't exist in the original version. G-MODE keeps the original feature phone experience intact, preserving the authenticity of games that may no longer be playable on their original platforms.
Classic PAC-MAN Gameplay
Gameplay PAC-MAN stays true to its classic formula: control PAC-MAN moving up, down, left, and right to eat all the Pac-Dots in the maze while avoiding the four Ghosts:
- Oikake (red) - direct pursuit
- Machibuse (pink) - blocking in front
- Kimagure (light blue) - random moves
- Otoboke (orange) - behave unpredictably
Use Power Cookies to turn against the Ghosts and complete each round by eating all the Cookies in the maze. The simplicity of the gameplay is what makes PAC-MAN endures as one of the most iconic games of all time.
G-MODE Archives+ and the Preservation of Old Games
Series G-MODE Archives+ is G-MODE's initiative to preserve and re-release games that were once available on Japanese feature phone platforms. Many games from that era are in danger of being lost as the feature phone platform dies out and there is no official way to play them anymore.
