DELTARUNE Chapter 5 is officially scheduled for release on June 24, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. PT / 11:00 a.m. ET. In fact, this announcement was made directly by the creator DELTARUNE, tobyfox, via its official newsletter.
This latest chapter will be available for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
DELTARUNE Chapter 5 Synopsis
In the newsletter, tobyfox shared a brief glimpse into the atmosphere of DELTARUNE Chapter 5. After Chapter 4 featured “dark clouds on the horizon,” Chapter 5 appears to take a lighter approach to the story’s journey.
Tobyfox describes Chapter 5 as another fun adventure before the story shifts back to the larger plot. According to him, this chapter still fits well with the overall story of DELTARUNE.

DELTARUNE Chapter 6 Progress Update
In addition to announcing the release date for Chapter 5, tobyfox also provided an update on the development of DELTARUNE Chapter 6. He mentioned that development of the next chapter is going well. Here are the details on the progress of DELTARUNE Chapter 6:
- Cutscenes and NPC interactions: Work well
- Overworld gameplay: All the basic mechanics for the chapter have been implemented
- Additional rooms: We still need to create a few rooms that make use of that gimmick
- Common enemies and bullets: Most of them are done
- Bosses and bullets: The team is working on the bullets for the chapter's final battle
Tobyfox explained that Chapter 6 was easier to create than the other chapters. Because of that, the development process went fairly quickly.
He also noted that it is not unrealistic for some staff members to begin working on Chapter 7 before the end of this year.

Tobyfox also noted that development of Chapter 6 is moving quickly because it is easier to create than other chapters. If this progress continues, part of the development team may be able to start working on Chapter 7 before the end of 2026.
