Flamecraft will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. This digital adaptation of the tabletop strategy game was developed by Monster Couch, the studio that previously worked on Wingspan and Quilts & Cats of Calico.
In Flamecraft, players take on the role of a Flamekeeper who helps artisan dragons and shopkeepers develop the city through resources, crafting, and enchantments. The release date for the full version has not yet been announced.
Gameplay Focuses on Resources, Dragons, and Enchantments
Flamecraft is a cozy turn-based strategy board game for one to five players. The main focus of the game is managing resources, placing dragon artisans, and using enchantments to earn reputation points.
On each turn, players will visit the shop in town. The shop can be used to collect resources such as iron, bread, potions, and other resources needed to carry out their strategies.
The resources you collect can be used to perform enchantments at the shop. When an enchantment is performed, players can activate the abilities of the dragons in that shop. This system opens up opportunities to create combos and gain additional benefits.
In addition to Artisan Dragons, players can also use Fancy Dragons. These dragons have special abilities, including one-time effects or additional scoring opportunities at the end of the game.
The player with the highest reputation points at the end of the game will earn the title of Master of Flamecraft.
Featuring Cozy Fantasy
Flamecraft features a lighthearted fantasy setting, where dragons and magic are part of everyday life. The game doesn’t focus on combat, but rather on the relationships between dragon artisans and shopkeepers as they craft various goods for the townspeople.
Some of the shops mentioned in the game include Gnome Depot, Drake of Cakes, and Draconic Tonic. The names of these shops reinforce the cozy fantasy identity that is a defining feature of Flamecraft.
This approach makes Flamecraft feel like a cozy strategy board game, while still offering room for decision-making through resource management, shop selection, and the timing of ability use.
Flamecraft Features in the Digital Adaptation
The digital version of Flamecraft features a number of elements based on the original board game, adapted for the video game format.

The Flamecraft Demo Is Now Available on All Platforms
The Flamecraft demo is now available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, and PC. In this demo, players can visit several unique shops in the city, meet Artisan Dragons and Fancy Dragons, and try out the basics of gameplay as a Flamekeeper.
Players can also compete against bots at three difficulty levels. In addition, the demo supports local multiplayer for up to five players.
For new players, the Flamecraft demo includes a fully narrated tutorial featuring the voice of Becca Scott. This tutorial introduces the basic rules, the turn-based gameplay, and how to use the game’s main actions.
This demo provides an initial glimpse into the gameplay of Flamecraft before the full version is released.
Flamecraft Is Coming to Consoles and PC
Flamecraft has been confirmed for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. This console version will be released alongside the PC version.
This digital adaptation brings the tabletop strategy game format to a video game that can be played solo or with other players. The visuals bring to life the world created by Sandara Tang, featuring a colorful 3D city filled with shops, booths, laboratories, and animated dragons.
This game also features a whimsical score by Pawel Gorniak, a composer who previously worked on the music for Wingspan and Quilts & Cats of Calico.
