Demo CRYMELIGHT now available on PC via Steam for a limited time as part of the Six One Demo Days event. This roguelike action game comes from developer Winning Entertainment Group and publisher FuRyu.
CRYMELIGHT is scheduled for full release on November 5, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam. Before the full version launches, players can try the Battle Demo to get an early feel for the game’s combat and pacing.
CRYMELIGHT Battle Demo Available During Six One Demo Days
The CRYMELIGHT demo will be available from August 1 through August 9, 2026, Japan Standard Time. Since the demo is only available during the event, interested players can check its availability directly through Steam.
Along with the release of the demo, the first trailer for CRYMELIGHT has also been released on the Steam page. The trailer features glimpses into the pasts of the girls who bear sin, as well as the latest gameplay footage from CRYMELIGHT.
This Battle Demo isn’t focused on introducing the main story of Alice and the other characters in Wonderland. The demo was created so players can experience the action, gameplay pace, and overall feel of CRYMELIGHT firsthand.
The Demo Focuses on Combat and Gameplay Feel
The CRYMELIGHT Battle Demo focuses on combat ahead of the full game’s release. The developers explained that the controls and feel of the action are difficult to convey through video or words alone, so players are given the opportunity to try it out for themselves.
In this demo, players won’t get to see Alice’s full story yet. However, the developers note that there may be hidden clues in the battles that can help players unravel the mystery behind the CRYMELIGHT story.
The developer also noted that the internal version of CRYMELIGHT currently under development has already seen improvements compared to the Battle Demo. One example of a change mentioned is the reduction in the recovery frame after a dodge.
Since the review and distribution preparation process takes time, the available demo uses a slightly earlier build. Even so, the development team is still fine-tuning the game in preparation for the full release.
CRYMELIGHT Takes Alice to Wonderland
CRYMELIGHT is a story-driven action roguelike. The game follows Alice, the main character who finds herself lost in a mysterious afterlife called Wonderland.
To escape that world, Alice must set out on a journey and defeat the Queen of Hearts, the ruler of Wonderland. In this world, every girl carries a different sin from her life before she died.
Some of the sins mentioned in the story include hurting someone, abandoning someone, and being unable to forgive oneself. This game will depict how the characters confront these sins, acknowledge them, and move forward.
Some of the characters introduced include Cheshire, who once hurt a friend with a lie, and Mad, who believes that only death can bring salvation.
2D Graphics and the "Turning Back Time" Theme
CRYMELIGHT features characters and backgrounds rendered in 2D. The developers chose this approach to preserve the cute and delicate feel of the original illustrations.
The 2D approach is also used in animated conversation scenes. The developers cite details such as the characters’ expressions, gestures, hair, and clothing as elements they want to highlight in this game.
In addition to its visuals, CRYMELIGHT also features a “turning back time” theme that ties into its roguelike structure. The element of trying again and again in the gameplay is said to be connected to the story, not just the game mechanics.
