SEGA shared new details about *Persona 4 Revival*. ATLUS is developing this RPG as a remake of the classic *Persona 4*. The game is set to launch on February 18, 2027. Supported platforms include Xbox Series X|S, Windows, Xbox Game Pass, PlayStation 5, and Steam.
This announcement also introduces three new characters: Kanji Tatsumi, Teddie, and Naoto Shirogane. In addition, SEGA has released a new story trailer.
Kanji, Teddie, and Naoto Join the Investigation Team
Kanji Tatsumi plays the role of a first-year high school student. He is known as a delinquent who is feared by many. Despite this, Kanji is honest and loyal to his friends. His mother owns a textile store. Kanji’s Persona is named Take-Mikazuchi.
Teddie is a mysterious creature who lives in the world of TV. He’s very curious and enthusiastic. Teddie joined the Investigation Team to protect his world. His Persona is named Kintoki-Douji.
Naoto Shirogane is a freshman in high school and a member of the fifth generation of the Shirogane detective family. He is intelligent and calm in his work. Naoto collaborates with the police to solve cases. His Persona is named Sukuna-Hikona.
These three characters join the team of protagonists. They explore the world of TV to rescue missing people.
"Breakable Objects" and "Shuffle Time" Enrich the Exploration of the TV World
Persona 4 Revival introduces new exploration mechanics in the TV World. One of the new features is called “Breakable Objects.” These breakable objects are scattered throughout various areas of the TV World. These objects may contain items, healing effects, or even complete floor plans. Players can use these objects to make their journeys through dungeons easier.
Another feature is called Shuffle Time. This feature appears after a battle ends. Players can choose a card from several available options. Each card offers a different reward, ranging from new Personas to other items. If a player manages to collect all the cards on the screen, the Sweep Bonus will be activated. This bonus increases the amount of EXP and money earned from battles.
Release Schedule, Platforms, and Special Editions for Persona 4 Revival
Persona 4 Revival is scheduled to launch on February 18, 2027. The game will be available for Xbox Series X|S, Windows, Xbox Game Pass, PlayStation 5, and Steam. The digital version will be available only for Xbox Series X|S, Windows, and Steam.
Players can also choose from several special editions. The Limited Box Edition includes the Shigenori Soejima Designer Box, a Midnight Channel-themed phone pouch, an exclusive T-shirt, a 48-page art book, the Velvet costume set, and a physical copy of the game.
In addition, the Digital Premium Edition and Digital Deluxe Edition are also available.
Language Support and the 30-Year Journey of the Persona Series
Persona 4 Revival supports multiple languages. Subtitles are available in Japanese, English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Korean, and Thai. Character voiceovers are available in Japanese and English. A Chinese dub will be added via a post-launch update.
This year marks the 30th anniversary of the release of *Revelations: Persona*. The Persona series is set in modern-day Japan. The story follows ordinary students who harbor extraordinary secrets. They face supernatural phenomena while navigating their teenage lives. Amid these challenges, they awaken their Persona powers. Personas are alternate forms of themselves, taking the shapes of gods and demons.
Persona 4 was first released for the PlayStation 2 in 2008. The game takes players on a journey through rural Japan, a stark contrast to the urban setting of Persona 3. The theme of self-discovery is the game’s main draw. Persona 4 Golden was later released for the PlayStation Vita in 2012 with additional content. The series has also spawned various spin-offs, ranging from fighting games and rhythm games to anime and concerts.
