SEGA will showcase the game Kalanoro at the Tokyo Game Show 2026. This action-adventure game was developed by Red Raketa Studio from Madagascar. New Tales is serving as the co-publisher for this game.

Kalanoro is set in a world called Lemuria. This world is inspired by the folklore and art of Madagascar. Players take on the role of Kalakely, the game’s main character.

Kalanoro's Combat Relies on the Power of His Hair

Kalakely uses the power of her hair to attack enemies from a distance. This power can also entangle enemies and pull them closer. Kalakely can fight in close combat using improvised weapons.

Some objects in the vicinity of the battle can be used as weapons, for example:

  • Frying pan
  • Carrot
  • Other items found at the scene of the battle

Players can also throw these objects at enemies.

Unique Characters and Life on a Tour Bus

Kalakely will meet many unique characters along the way. One of them is Mille-Clément, the guide who accompanies Kalakely. Kalakely also recruits musician lemurs to form a band with them.

The tour bus serves as the main hub for chatting and strengthening relationships with band members. Players can cook each character’s favorite food to improve their relationships. Bands with high popularity can perform on bigger stages.

The Story of Kalanoro Centers on a Mission to Save the Island

Kalakely’s mission is to rescue musician lemurs scattered across various locations. Every musician rescued will join Kalakely’s band. The band performs on various stages while building its popularity.

Kalakely's final mission is to free the island from the clutches of an evil witch named Raneny.
