After Nintendo confirmed last August that The Switch and Switch 2 are set to officially launch in Indonesia, the price has now been announced.
According to the report Duniaku.com, The Switch 2 has an MSRP of Rp9,999,000, the first-generation Switch is priced at Rp4,229,000, and the Switch bundle with Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! 4,450,000 rupiah. All three will be launched simultaneously on December 10, 2026.
Many people immediately say the prices are too high—is that really true when compared to other countries?
Here's the Difference Compared to Prices in Other Countries
Nintendo has just revised the MSRP for the Switch 2 in several countries via its official release in May 2026, including Japan, the United States, Canada, and Europe. If all those figures are converted to rupiah using today’s exchange rate, the results are as follows:

It should be noted that, as of the writing of this article, Nintendo has not specified whether the MSRP of Rp9,999,000 for Indonesia includes tax (PPN) or not. Therefore, the comparison above is not entirely an “apple-to-apple” comparison, especially with Japan and Europe, where the MSRPs definitely include tax.
What’s clear is that MSRPs in Indonesia remain significantly higher than those in Japan and the United States—two markets that have long served as the primary benchmarks for local gamers when purchasing through unofficial channels. But compared to Europe and especially Canada, our prices are actually still lower.
There Are Games, But the eShop Is Still a Mystery
Nintendo has also confirmed 10 games that will be available at the Switch 2 launch, ranging from flagship first-party titles to several remakes:

As for the first-generation Switch, there are popular titles such as Super Mario Odyssey, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, as well as the series Pokémon Scarlet, Violet, and Legends: Z–A.
One thing remains up in the air: there’s still no word on when the Nintendo eShop will launch in Indonesia. Until now, Indonesian gamers have been using accounts from the United States or Hong Kong to access the eShop, and it’s possible that this practice will continue even after the Switch and Switch 2 are officially available here.
