The Computer Entertainment Supplier’s Association (CESA) has announced details about Family Game Park 2026. Sanrio characters have been officially named ambassadors for this family-friendly area at the Tokyo Game Show 2026. Family Game Park will be held during the three-day public event, from September 19 to 21, 2026.
Family Game Park Moves to the Tokyo Bay Makuhari Hall Venue
Family Game Park was previously located in the Makuhari Messe Event Hall. This year, the area has moved to the TKP Tokyo Bay Makuhari Hall, a location not far from Makuhari Messe. Visitors to Family Game Park can enter through a dedicated entrance.
Children in junior high school or younger, accompanied by a parent or guardian, may enter this area for free. Visitors in junior high school or older still need a separate TGS ticket to access the main exhibition area.
Sanrio and Sanapii Named Official Ambassadors of Family Game Park
This year marks the debut of the “Family Game Park Official Ambassadors” program. Characters from Sanrio Co., Ltd. are joining Sanapii, Editor-in-Chief of the children’s gaming magazine Televi Game Magazine, who was announced as an ambassador last August.
A photo display featuring Hello Kitty and Pompompurin will greet visitors at the entrance. CESAsaurus, the official CESA mascot, will appear alongside Sanapii and Sanrio characters on a special stage for the TGS 30th-anniversary celebration. Sanapii and Sanrio characters also appear in a free career guidebook titled “Oshigoto BOOK.”
Asobiba Offers 19 Games to Try Out Right Away
Asobiba is an interactive game demo zone for elementary and middle school students. Visitors can try out the latest games from various publishers and check out related gaming devices.

Manabiba Encourages Children to Learn How to Make Games
Manabiba is a learning zone based on real-world experiences from the gaming industry. Some programs at Manabiba require numbered tickets, while others are open to the public.
Here are some of the programs available:
- Sound Creation Experience on Nintendo Switch, using KORG Gadget software to make music without having to read sheet music
- Puyo Puyo Programming, a workshop on learning to code using SEGA’s Puyo Puyo game
- Little Planet: 3D Drawing Racing, turns hand-drawn pictures into 3D race cars
- "Hello, ICT Park!" introduces the BAKIN RPG development tool and educational games created by students at Asahikawa National College of Technology
- Game Music Creation Workshop with Sony Music Labels, intended for third-grade elementary school students and up
- mini JAMMM, instantly turns images and photos into in-game characters and items
Kids' Stage and Photo Sessions with Favorite Characters
The Kids’ Stage Area and Greeting Area feature stage performances and photo sessions with characters. The Ambassador Stage runs daily from 11:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. during the three days of Family Game Park.
The full schedule includes sessions featuring Puyo Puyo eSports-kun, Once Upon a Katamari, Bomberman Collection, FINAL FANTASY, and Pawapro 2026.
On Sunday, September 20, this area will also feature a special stage celebrating the 30th anniversary of Pompompurin and the Curious George Dance Stage. The Sanrio characters appearing on the Ambassador Stage will change daily.
Gachapon, Stamp Rally, and TGS’s 30th Anniversary Raffle
Family Game Park 2026 is featuring an exclusive collection of acrylic marker charm gachapon figures, available in six character designs. Each gachapon play costs 500 yen, and visitors must exchange cash for tokens at the Information Desk.
The stamp rally invites visitors to collect six stamps throughout the venue to receive a special prize while supplies last. CESA is also holding a “Family (F) Gara (G) Pon (P)” raffle to celebrate TGS’s 30th anniversary. Visitors who complete the venue survey get one chance to spin the raffle wheel, with a total of 30 grand prize winners.
Family Game Park is also opening an official merchandise booth for the first time, although product details have not yet been announced.
Family Game Park 2026 Operating Hours and Admission Requirements
Family Game Park 2026 is managed by CESA in collaboration with co-organizers Nikkei Business Publications and Sony Music Solutions. The venue is open from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, and from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Mondays.
Children in junior high school and younger, accompanied by an adult, can enter for free. Opening hours may be earlier than scheduled, depending on visitor traffic.
