During PlayStation's September State of Play event, Square Enix officially announced that Final Fantasy VII will launch on February 29, 2024, exclusively for PlayStation 5.

Not only the release date, Square Enix also showcased a stunning trailer, introducing the characters and the maps that may be familiar to gamers who have played the original Final Fantasy VII. Here you'll get to reminisce with some of the most famous characters, from Cait Sith, Vincent Valentine, Kalm, to Junon and The Golden Saucer. Is that all? Of course not!

Another surprising news is the issue that the character of Vincent Valentine will be played by Matt Mercer. But of course this is still a rumor because there has been no official confirmation from Square Enix or Mercer himself.

Looking at the previous games, Vincent is a character known for his 'dark' personality. With a character like that, it's no wonder that Mercer was the first choice to play Vincent.

Mercer, who is best known for his role as the Dungeon Master in the web series "Critical Role" and also as the voice of Ganondorf in "The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom," seems to be very suitable to play Vincent. In fact, even FF VII fans suspect that voice over Vincent in video trailer is the voice of Mercer. What do you think?

What might make you feel interested is the presence of mini games. In FF VII Rebirth, you can play Chocobo racing, Chocobo breeding, and even more intense battles with iconic weapons!

Anyway, in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, not only do you get to do the main missions and story, but you also get to 'slip away' for a little bit and refreshing with some fun mini games!

For the story part, based on the excerpts in the trailer"Rebirth" will continue the last story, "Remake", with familiar characters such as Cloud, Tifa, Barret, Aerith, and Red XIII heading to a small town called Kalm.

Unfortunately, there is no official statement from Square Enix about the story, and we don't know if the story is still related to the original FF VII story or not. However, they did reveal that the game will be about 100 hours long. So, we can expect the story to be more intense and longer.

With a number of mini-games, a longer story, and familiar characters, "Final Fantasy VII Rebirth" is likely to be one of the best games on PS5. That's all the information we can get. Now we just have to wait for the next announcement from developer FF7. So, fans, prepare yourselves for this latest installment of Final Fantasy VII!
