The anime adaptation of Naruki’s manga *Glasses With a Chance of Delinquent* will premiere in April 2027. The manga’s original title is *Megane, Tokidoki, Yankee-kun*. Official Website This anime has released its first teaser video, which also announced the first three voice actors.
The Story of a Former Delinquent Who Wears Glasses
Seven Seas Entertainment, the publisher of the English-language version of this manga, has shared a synopsis of the story. The main character is Momose, a high school student who just wants to enjoy a peaceful school life. Momose doesn’t want to have anything to do with delinquents or troublemakers.
One day, Momose met Ichikura. Ichikura was a black-haired, bespectacled boy who didn’t really stand out. At first, Ichikura seemed like a nice, ordinary student.
However, Momose later learns that Ichikura was a feared delinquent in middle school. Ichikura claims to have changed, but he’s still easily provoked into fights. One of the questions in this story is whether Momose will keep Ichikura’s past a secret. The story is set in a school setting and focuses on the relationship between Momose and Ichikura.
The original titles of *Megane*, *Tokidoki*, and *Yankee-kun* use the word “yankee.” In Japanese pop culture, the word “yankee” refers to delinquent teenagers. This meaning differs from the meaning of the word “yankee” in American English.
