In terms of CPU performance, the Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite X1E 78 100 installed on the ASUS Vivobook S 15 OLED (S5507) offers good computing performance for a modern laptop.
As evident from the performance measurement results, it is very capable of running office applications very smoothly. However, there are still many applications that cannot work properly due to differences in application design architecture and compatibility with the ARM technology used in the processor.
In terms of graphics, the performance of the built-in Qualcomm Adreno GPU also offers capable 3D capabilities. Curious, we also tried running some commonly used benchmark games to take measurements. Here are the results:
Some games are still playable at Full HD resolution with left-aligned settings. But to be smoother, the display quality settings on these games still need to be lowered to HD resolution to be more playable. However, of course, just like in everyday applications, some games cannot be run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon platform in Windows 11.
What's interesting is the performance when the laptop is running on battery mode, without being plugged in. Whether it was being used to run office applications or gaming applications, there was no significant drop in performance when the laptop was plugged into a power source or the power cable was unplugged and the laptop was running on battery.
Also interestingly, when working on battery, the laptop can last for almost 14 hours if used to watch online videos, with a screen brightness level of 50%. Depending on the applications you run on the laptop, the battery on this laptop can supply energy for at least one working day.
When working, the laptop is also very responsive because the read-write speed of the SSD used in it is also relatively high. Up to 5000MB/s for reads and over 3000MB/s when writing work data.
Conclusion
As a work laptop, the Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite processor available on this ASUS Vivobook S 15 OLED (S5507) offers excellent performance potential. Performance is okay, energy efficiency is good, graphics performance is adequate.
Although there are still a few compatibility issues, they should be resolved with some Windows updates or updates to the relevant applications. Nevertheless, when used to run NPU-enabled applications, the performance of this laptop is outstanding.
