Square Enix has announced a new novel set in the world of FINAL FANTASY VII Rebirth. Novel It is titled Final Fantasy VII Rebirth: Dear Destiny and will focus on the untold story of Cloud, Tifa, and Aerith, giving new depth to the game's narrative.
Continued Story in the World of FINAL FANTASY VII
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth: Dear Destiny is positioned as a sequel to the novel Traces of Two Pasts, which was released for FFVII Remake. The novel Traces of Two Pasts was first published in Japan on July 2021, The English localization followed in November 2022. This release pattern provides context for international fans regarding potential future releases.

For storytelling, Square Enix has once again commissioned Kazushige Nojima. His role as a screenwriter for the FINAL FANTASY VII game series ensures that the content in this novel will align with the existing main storyline.
Story Focus on Three Iconic Characters
Novel Dear Destiny will continue the exploration of the story from Aerith and Tifa's point of view, recounting the events they experienced before the main in-game storyline began. In addition, the novel will introduce new content not present in its predecessor, namely a story centered on Cloud Strife during his time as a Shinra warrior.
The description page in Japan also gives an idea of the novel's content through several quotes. Currently, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth: Dear Destiny has been announced for release in Japan on January 30, 2026. Pre-order has been unlocked through the Square Enix e-Store Japan website at a price of 1,760 yen (approximately $11.40).
To date, Square Enix has not announced a release date for the English translation or for markets outside of Japan. Fans around the world will need to wait for more information regarding the novel's availability in other languages.
