Official website for adaptation anime from Yuhiro Tsujitsugu's manga has just updated information regarding their animation project. This latest update includes the release of the first teaser video, key visuals, as well as the reveal of the staff and voice actors involved. Anime Snowball Earth is scheduled to make its broadcast debut in April 2026.
Snowball Earth Synopsis and Trailer
The story takes place in 2025 when giant monsters from outside the galaxy attack Earth. A huge war broke out and humanity fought back using a giant robot named Yukio. Tetsuo Yabusame becomes the pilot of the robot to fight this threat.
As the alien swarms increasingly push against the human defenses, Tetsuo and the Earth Defense Force are deployed for a final battle. Their efforts end in defeat and Yukio's robot is destroyed in battle. Tetsuo manages to survive using escape pod and enter the phase cold sleep for eight years.
When escape pod Upon landing back on Earth, Tetsuo wakes up to find that the situation has completely changed. He finds a devastated world completely frozen under a thick layer of ice and snow, a phenomenon referred to as Snowball Earth.
The focus of the story follows Tetsuo's journey in the frozen world to find out the fate of humanity and fulfill his last promise to Yukio.
Production Staff and Seiyuu of Snowball Earth
The animation production was done by Studio KAI with TOHO animation as the producer. The director position is held by Munehisa Sakai, who was previously known for his work in Zombie Land Saga, Dance Dance Danseur, and movies One Piece Movie Strong World.
The series script was handled by Shigeru Murakoshi, while the character designs were worked on by Toshiya Kono who also acted as the Chief Animation Director. The music for the series was composed by a team consisting of Tatsuya Kato, Hiroaki Tsutsumi, and Yuki Kanesaka.

Original Manga Background
The manga was first launched by Yuhiro Tsujitsugu in the magazine Monthly Spirits owned by Shogakukan in 2021 and still has a status of ongoing.
Shogakukan is scheduled to release the 10th volume of the compilation book in Japan on December 26, while Viz Media will publish the English version of the 8th volume on February 17.
