Tokyo Game Show 2026 is starting to unveil the first set of information for this year's event. In its latest announcement, Tokyo Game Show brought several key points to the table, from the official video teaser, to the five-day event format, to giveaways via the official X account, to the return of the TGS BOOSTERZ influencer program.

Tokyo Game Show 2026 will be held from September 17 to 21, 2026. The event is organized by the Computer Entertainment Supplier's Association (CESA), with Nikkei Business Publications, Inc. and Sony Music Solutions Inc. as co-organizers. This year also marks the 30th anniversary of the Tokyo Game Show.

Tokyo Game Show 2026 Releases Video Teaser

One of the main points of this announcement is the release of the official Tokyo Game Show 2026 teaser video. The video has been published through the official TGS channels on YouTube, X, Instagram, and other social media platforms.

This year's main visuals were again done by illustrator Zashikiwarashi. Like last year, Tokyo Game Show 2026's visuals are divided into teaser illustration and main illustration. At this stage, the first to be unveiled is the visual teaser that is connected to the TGS2026 opening video.

This information also comes along with the confirmation that this year's Tokyo Game Show will use a longer format. So, the video teaser doesn't come alone, but opens directly with the basic details of the event that are starting to be directed towards September.

Tokyo Game Show 2026 Comes with a 5-Day Format

Tokyo Game Show 2026 will be the first edition to take place over five days.

The daily schedule has been specifically divided to accommodate the needs of the industry and fans:

  • September 17-18 (Thursday & Friday): Business Day
  • September 19-21 (Saturday, Sunday, Monday/Holiday): Public Day

In terms of venues, this year's event remains centered in the Makuhari area. The official venues include Makuhari Messe, including Exhibition Halls 1-11 and the International Convention Center, as well as TKP Tokyo Bay Makuhari Hall.

The organizers are also targeting a large scale event for this edition, with an estimated 300,000 visitors and 3,500 booths. That gives a pretty clear idea of the size of Tokyo Game Show 2026 since the information phase has only just begun.

The five-day format was also one of the most prominent things in the initial announcement of TGS2026. Along with the 30th anniversary, this detail gives a clear indication of where this year's Tokyo Game Show stands.

Tokyo Game Show Also Opens Giveaway And TGS BOOSTERZ

In addition to the video teaser, Tokyo Game Show also opened a giveaway through their official account on X. Full details about the giveaway can be seen directly through official post TOKYO GAME SHOW on X.

In the same announcement, the official influencer program TGS BOOSTERZ is also set to return after last year's run. The program's theme is to share the appeal of Tokyo Game Show with a global audience through social media and video streaming.

For the 2026 edition, the number of TGS BOOSTERZ participants is scheduled to reach 30. This number is in line with the 30th anniversary of this year's Tokyo Game Show.

The organizers said that this year's exhibition hall layout was revisited and large-scale booths were distributed to several points. This move was intended to maximize the exhibition space and open up opportunities for more companies to participate.

For now, Tokyo Game Show 2026 is only taking its first steps. But the video teaser, the five-day format, and the scale of the event that has already been announced are enough to give an idea of the direction of this year's TGS heading into September.
