A fairy-tale mystery novel by Aito Aoyagi, Little Red Riding Hood Meets a Corpse on Her Journey, has officially been adapted into a TV anime series set to air in 2027. A teaser visual and the first trailer have been released, along with the initial cast and staff announcements.
When Fairy Tales Meet Murder Cases
This series combines classic fairy-tale settings with detective mysteries. Little Red Riding Hood is portrayed as a traveler who encounters various crimes and mysteries throughout her journey in the fairy-tale world, and then sets out to uncover the truth behind them.
As the title suggests, this series begins with Little Red Riding Hood’s encounter with a victim’s corpse, making this fairy-tale mystery formula quite unique compared to typical fairy-tale adaptations. The released trailer shows a scene where Little Red Riding Hood interrogates a suspect with a rather reckless criminal plan.
