Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 was officially announced by Activision and developer Infinity Ward. The game will be coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam, Microsoft Store, and Battle.net on October 23, 2026.
Campaign Story and Setting
The campaign Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 centered on the conflict on the Korean Peninsula. North Korea launches a massive invasion that threatens the stability of the world. Players will assume the role of Private Park, a young South Korean soldier facing real combat for the first time. Meanwhile, Captain Price goes on a secret mission from behind the scenes to uncover a larger conspiracy.
Battle locations in the campaign span the globe, from trench warfare in Korea, to close-quarters combat in New York, to chases in Paris, to SAS night raids in Mumbai. This is one of the most ambitious campaigns in the franchise's history. Call of Duty.

New Multiplayer Features
Multiplayer Modern Warfare 4 introducing the system Ballistic Authority, A new technology that brings together aiming precision, weapon handling, and realistic audio. The bloom on the hipfire is removed completely, so every shot feels more direct and predictable.
This game comes with 12 core maps at launch, plus Gunfight and Big War maps for large-scale battles. A new mode called Kill Block presents a dynamic training arena with more than 500 different configurations which changes every round, forcing players to constantly adapt.
Pre-Order Edition and Price
Pre-orders are already available for PS5, Xbox Series, and PC in two editions:
- Standard Edition - $69.99 / ¥9,800: Includes a copy of the game and pre-order bonuses of early beta access and the Hunter Killer Operator Skin for Black Ops 7 and Warzone
- Vault Edition - $99.99 / ¥13,200: Includes Hostile Alliance Operator Pack (4 skins), Special Forces Operator Pack (4 skins with voice pack), 5 Signature Weapons, BlackCell 1 Season, and DMZ Deployment Bonus
For the Nintendo Switch 2 version, more details including pre-orders will be announced next summer. Infinity Ward partnered with Digital Legends to natively develop the Switch 2 version.
DMZ Mode
DMZ comes as the definitive extraction shooter experience in the franchise Call of Duty. Players operate as secret agents in an ever-changing conflict zone, with dynamic weather and ever-changing military objectives. More details about the DMZ will be revealed on June 7, 2026.
