Atari and developer Pipeworks have officially announced Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered, an Unreal Engine 5-based remake of the classic kaiju arena brawler first released in 2002. According to reports, the game will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, and PC via Steam on November 3.

Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered will retail for $29.99. Meanwhile, the Switch 2 version is priced at $39.99. Atari is also releasing a physical edition for the PlayStation 5, and pre-orders are available now.

The Return of the Classic Kaiju Games from Atari and Pipeworks

Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee is known as one of the classic kaiju fighting games from the 2000s. In this remastered version, Atari is once again serving as the publisher, while Pipeworks, the original developer, is also handling the game’s development.

Mike Mika, Atari’s Chief Creative Officer, said that there is a great sense of responsibility in working on Godzilla games, especially for fan-favorite titles like *Destroy All Monsters Melee*.

“It makes perfect sense that Atari, the original publisher in 2002, would partner with Pipeworks, the original developer and kaiju experts, to bring their creation back to the forefront—bigger, better, and more destructive than ever,” said Mike Mika in a press release.

Kaiju Arena Brawler Gameplay with Remastered Graphics

Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered brings back kaiju-versus-kaiju battles in a massive arena. Players can choose a monster and fight using a variety of brutal attacks, ranging from close-range strikes and long-range energy blasts to special attacks in Rage Mode.

The game will feature eight battle locations, each with day and night variations. The available arenas range from real-world cities to Monster Island and the Alien Mothership.

The arena environment isn’t just a backdrop. Players can use it strategically during combat, including using buildings and landmarks as weapons to attack opponents.
