HoYoverse announced that Honkai: Star Rail will soon launch Version 4.5, titled “To Roll the Stars in Astropolis,” on August 26, 2026. This update takes Trailblazers to Astropolis, one of the main headquarters of the Interastral Peace Corporation (IPC), to seek help for Planarcadia, which is currently in crisis due to the emergence of Voracity.
Story: From the Voracity Crisis to a Vacation in Astropolis
After the Express Crew successfully defeated Lord Ravager Asat Pramad, Voracity officially emerged and once again brought Planarcadia to the brink of disaster. To find the power needed to save Planarcadia, Trailblazer must evade Voracity’s interference and set out for Astropolis, the headquarters of Interastral Peace Entertainment. There, Trailblazer will navigate the complex management hierarchy of the IPC to obtain that crucial power.
Astropolis itself is portrayed as a symbol of the luxurious lifestyle of IPC workers and executives, as well as a favorite vacation destination for tycoons and officials from across the Pan-Cosmic Trade System. In the midst of the Trailblaze Continuance storyline, Trailblazers will embark on an interstellar vacation with two new characters, Robin and Aventurine.
Robin • Summeretto, a 5-Star Wind Character with a Support Role
Robin • Summeretto is a 5-star Wind character with the Path of Remembrance. After Sunday left Penacony, Robin now leads the Oak Family. In this version, Robin not only performs as a singer but also carries out a secret mission to investigate the “legacy” of Gopher Wood.
In battle, Robin • Summeretto buffs her team through her performance with her band of little birds. Her teammates“ actions will accumulate Vibes for her, and once her Skill is used and Vibes reach a certain level, her team will enter Fever Pitch mode, which grants a buff every time they attack an enemy. Her Ultimate can also cause one teammate to take immediate action and regenerate Energy, while simultaneously increasing her own Vibes. Robin • Summeretto also performs a new single titled ”Only by Chasing the Wind” in this story arc.
Aventurine • Waveflair, a Quantum Character with a Surfer-Style Combat Style
In the second half of this version, it’s Aventurine • Waveflair’s turn to make her debut—a 5-star Quantum character with the Path of Elation. Even while on vacation in Astropolis, Aventurine continues to use her connections to uncover the alleged traitor among the Ten Stonehearts.
As a sports fan and surfer, Aventurine • Waveflair fights using a beach volleyball or by riding the waves. Every time she uses an ability or when a teammate takes action, she accumulates Punchline and Fervor. When Fervor reaches a certain amount, she automatically triggers an additional Elation Skill that attacks all enemies at once while dealing random damage to a single target multiple times. This Elation Skill becomes more powerful based on the number of actions the team takes during the next Aha Instant.
Character Reruns and New Events
Following the release of this update, the drop rates for the limited 5-star character Robin • Summeretto and the limited Light Cone “Rise and Sing” will be increased, along with the rerun of the limited 5-star character Hyacine. The 4-star Light Cone “A Little Getaway” has also been added to the first-half Event Warps. Starting September 12, the drop rates for Aventurine • Waveflair and the limited Light Cone “Summer Rides the Surf” will be increased, along with the rerun of the limited character Ashveil.
In terms of events, there’s the “Overdrive: Whirlwind Grand Prix” race, where Trailblazer serves as team principal, as well as the “Minuscule Great Adventure” event, which offers laid-back challenges. Divergent Universe also received gameplay updates through the “Planar Fissure” and “Realm of the Strange” double-drop events, plus a new Trailblaze Fashion item: the “Aw, Look Up Here” electronic emoji headwear. Starting with Version 4.5, story dialog can also be fast-forwarded, and this feature can be turned on or off at any time.
Collaboration with MOONDROP and Zenless Zone Zero
HoYoverse also announced a collaboration between Honkai: Star Rail and MOONDROP, which will feature Sparxie-themed merchandise as well as various online and offline events in different regions; further details will follow. Later this year, Honkai: Star Rail will also collaborate with Zenless Zone Zero, bringing characters from the Zenless Zone Zero universe into the Trailblaze adventure.
Honkai: Star Rail is currently available on PC, iOS, Android, the Epic Games Store, and PS5, with total downloads exceeding 150 million across all platforms. The game won the iPhone Game of the Year award from the Apple App Store and the Best Game award from Google Play in 2023, as well as the Still Playing Award (Mobile) from the Golden Joystick Awards and the PARTNER AWARD from the PlayStation Partner Awards in 2024.
