Ubisoft announced a new tactical game titled Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Tactics during Opening Night Live, the kickoff event for Gamescom 2026. This game is the first turn-based single-player tactical game in the Rainbow Six franchise.
Rainbow Six Tactics will be available on Ubisoft+, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, GeForce Now, Blacknut, and PC via Ubisoft Connect, Steam, and the Epic Games Store.
The Player Takes on the Role of Six, Commander of Rainbow
For the first time in the franchise’s history, players will take on the role of Six, the commander of the Rainbow unit. Players lead an elite team of up to four operators on high-risk missions. This process ranges from strategic planning at headquarters to tactical execution in the field.
Rainbow Six Tactics was developed by Ubisoft Paris, and its story unfolds alongside the Rainbow Six Siege timeline. A new global threat compels Team Rainbow to operate on a broader strategic scale.
Gameplay: A Combination of Base Management and Turn-Based Tactics
From Rainbow HQ, players will analyze intelligence, assign operators, upgrade the base, and make various decisions that determine the outcome of each mission. Once the team is deployed, turn-based combat challenges players to combine operator abilities, reconnaissance tools, gadgets, and destructible environments to defeat enemies.
At the heart of this gameplay experience is the cycle between global command and tactical execution. Players select a mission, assemble the right team of operatives, complete turn-based combat, and then return to headquarters to train their team, review intelligence, and strengthen Rainbow’s capabilities for the next operation.
A Roster of 15 Operators from Rainbow Six Siege
Rainbow Six Tactics features 15 operators from Rainbow Six Siege that players can choose from. Players can assemble a squad of four operators tailored to their individual playstyles. Each operator has unique abilities, special gadgets, and a distinct skill tree, encouraging experimentation and strategic team composition.
The Rainbow Six Tactics campaign features dozens of missions set in various locations around the world. Each operation presents its own challenges and opportunities, ranging from hostage rescues and bomb defusal to target elimination. Every mission requires thorough preparation, tactical improvisation, and precise execution.
Breach Feature: Simultaneous Attack Moment
Players can breach walls to open up new lines of sight, eliminate enemy cover, and create alternative entry points as the situation evolves. The Breach feature serves as a decisive tactical moment in this game. This feature involves a synchronized assault that breaks the turn-based rhythm, allowing all operators to move simultaneously to storm new areas by surprise. This action combines the operators’ abilities with the environment-destruction mechanics characteristic of Rainbow Six.

Rainbow Six Tactics is now available to add to your wishlist on PC via Ubisoft Connect, Steam, and the Epic Games Store, as well as on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The game will also be available on Ubisoft+, GeForce Now, and Blacknut at launch.
