The PlayStation 5 Pro or PS5 Pro was officially announced by Sony on September 10, 2024, and has been a highlight among gamers. The console comes with significant upgrades that provide higher performance and better visual quality compared to the standard PS5. In this article, we will cover various important aspects of the PS5 Pro, ranging from hardware specifications, new software features, to the list of games that support this console.

Release Date, Price, and Hardware Specifications

The PS5 Pro is scheduled to be released globally on November 7, 2024 at a price of $699/£699/€799. This price is higher compared to the standard PS5, but is in line with the huge improvements brought by the new hardware. Unfortunately, Sony Indonesia has still not provided official information on how much the PS5 Pro will cost in Indonesia. So don't pre-order before the official price in Indonesia is announced.

The PS5 Pro comes with a GPU that has 60 Compute Units, an increase of 67% from the standard PS5 which only has 36 Compute Units. Memory speed has also increased by 28%, from 448GB/s to 576GB/s, resulting in a 45% increase in rendering.

The SSD capacity on the PS5 Pro is increased to 2TB, which is more than double the standard PS5's capacity of 825GB. In addition, the PS5 Pro supports Wi-Fi 7 connectivity as well as up to 8K displays, although 8K support is currently dependent on compatible content and games.

PS5 Pro Software Features

Sony also introduced new software features for the PS5 Pro that will optimize the gaming experience. One of the key features is PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR), an AI-based upscaling technology that analyzes images pixel by pixel to increase resolution. This technology allows games to appear sharper, even if the original resolution is lower.

In addition, the PS5 Pro Game Boost feature will help improve performance on supported PS4 and PS5 games, providing a more stable frame rate. Some games can also utilize the Enhanced Image Quality feature to provide better resolution on certain PS4 games played on the PS5 Pro.
