This is an annual awards show for the best video games each year. The awards are unique in that they are largely voted for by the public, initially by the UK public but now voted for globally through online voting on GamesRadar+.

The year 2023 means that the Golden Joystick Awards has been going on for 41 years, making it the oldest video game awards show that was first held in 1983.

It originally focused on computer games, but now it has also included awards for console games as well.

In 2021, "Dark Souls" from 2011 was voted Best Game of All Time. In addition, the PC was honored with the Gaming Hardware of All Time Award, with Valve president Gabe Newell accepting the award.

In essence, the Golden Joystick Awards is a prestigious award event for the gaming category. So, the games that win this award, are certainly of quality and are favored by many gamers.

The winners of the 2023 Golden Joystick Awards have been announced by Gamesradar. This year's awards ceremony took place on Friday, November 10, and for the first time since 2019, the event was again held live in London, and broadcast live around the world.

The event, now in its 41st year, recognizes talent across the video game industry. This year, the number of votes was huge, with millions of people participating to vote for their favorite games in over a dozen categories.

This year, Larian Studios' Baldur's Gate 3 took home the most awards, winning seven Golden Joysticks, including Ultimate Game of the Year (UGOTY) and Larian Studios itself was voted Studio of the Year.
