Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is now officially available worldwide on Ubisoft+, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC via the Ubisoft Store, Steam, as well as the Epic Games Store. The PC version of this game is also Steam Deck verified.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced Brings a Remake of Black Flag to Modern Platforms

Ubisoft Singapore is leading development of the game in collaboration with several other co-development studios. Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is a remake of Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag, which was first released in 2013.

The new version has been rebuilt from the ground up using the latest Anvil engine. Ubisoft has prepared visual updates and a number of gameplay improvements to optimize the gaming experience on modern platforms.

Even so, the main goal remains to preserve the essence of Black Flag. This remake focuses on reimagining the original game with a fresh new look, updated systems, and previously unavailable content.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced Still Features Edward Kenway and the Golden Age of Piracy

Players once again follow the journey of Edward Kenway, a pirate captain caught up in the long-standing conflict between the Assassins and the Templars. The main setting remains the Caribbean during the Golden Age of Piracy.

Throughout the game, players will encounter several characters closely associated with Black Flag, including Blackbeard, Anne Bonny, and Calico Jack. These characters and settings remain an important part of the game’s identity.

That setting is still one of Black Flag’s main draws. The Caribbean world, sailing, and pirate life remain at the heart of the gameplay experience in this remake.

New Gameplay and Narrative Content Update

Ubisoft has highlighted several major changes to the gameplay. The combat system now takes a more parry-focused approach. Stealth and parkour have also been improved to support smoother movement and tactics.

Beyond that, the naval mechanics are said to have been fleshed out further. This is in line with the Black Flag identity, which has been known from the start for its strong focus on combat and maritime exploration.

The Resynced version also features new narrative content. Ubisoft has not provided details about this additional content in this announcement, but its inclusion indicates that this remake isn’t just relying on visual enhancements.

A New Trailer and Additional Soundtrack Will Also Be Available at Launch

To celebrate the game’s launch, Ubisoft has released a resynced version of the E3 2013 trailer for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. This new trailer is based on the latest version of the game and brings the Caribbean setting to life with the latest Anvil engine.

On the musical side, Brian Tyler’s original compositions have been retained, including the “Black Flag Main Theme.” At the same time, this version also features 22 new tracks by Stephen Lukach, created specifically for *Resynced*.

Ubisoft has announced that the Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced Original Game Soundtrack will be available starting July 10, 2026. This additional soundtrack complements the game’s launch with new audio material created specifically for the remake.
