MINTROCKET has officially announced Bancho the Chef, a cooking simulation and adventure game that serves as a prequel to DAVE THE DIVER. The game will follow the journey of the young Bancho before he became known as the sushi master in the main game.
According to Gematsu, Bancho the Chef will be available for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam. However, MINTROCKET has not yet announced an official release date.
The Story of a Young Bancho on His Journey to Becoming a Chef
Bancho the Chef tells the story of Bancho’s younger days—a character known to DAVE THE DIVER fans as both a mysterious figure and a highly skilled chef. In this game, players will follow Bancho’s journey across Asia as he learns from master chefs.
Players will visit various regions, including Japan, Korea, and China. In each region, Bancho will learn authentic recipes, discover new ingredients, and hone cooking techniques inspired by local cuisines.
This game focuses on how Bancho developed his skills and reputation to become the renowned master chef in DAVE THE DIVER.

Jaeho Hwang, as head of MINTROCKET said that Bancho has long been a fan favorite character in DAVE THE DIVER. In his view, Bancho is a mysterious and highly skilled character, so he deserves a more complete backstory.
“This game is special to our team for many reasons, but most importantly, we’re thrilled to bring a new adventure to a world that our fans love so much,” said Jaeho Hwang in a press release.
Bancho the Chef is set several years before the events of DAVE THE DIVER. Through this game, players can learn more about Bancho’s backstory and his connection to the DAVE THE DIVER universe.
Bancho the Chef Doesn't Have a Release Date Yet
As of now, MINTROCKET has not announced a release date for Bancho the Chef. The game is confirmed to be coming to PS5 and PC via Steam.
