Developer Mikimaki in collaboration with 346lab Localization officially announced the release date for Can I Not Fall for Idols?. This visual novel is scheduled to launch on PC via the platform Steam in early March 2026.
This announcement came along with the release of the Music Video (MV) for the main theme song. The song has the feel of a “classic idol nuanced fresh” and depicts the feeling of pure first love.
Game offers a unique approach to the Otome genre. Players must resist the temptation of romance for the sake of the successful career of the idol group you manage.
The premise of Can I Not Fall for Idols?
In Can I Not Fall for Idols?, You play the role of a new manager for an up-and-coming idol group called “Melonchu” (♡愛恋人♡).
The main challenge is quite different from typical Otome games. Usually, players try to increase their character's affection to get the romance route. However, here the situation is reversed.
The golden rule for managers is “No falling in love with idols”. The problem is, all Melonchu group members already have the maximum level of affection (MAX) for the manager since the beginning of the game.
You have to navigate a story full of “romance flags” or romance flags that appear constantly. Your main task is to survive these temptations so that the group can successfully make their debut.
Gameplay Mechanics and Live Success Rate
The game focuses on the balance between romance and professionalism. The choices you make during the dialog will affect an important parameter called “Live Success Rate”.
A gameplay dilemma arises when faced with a difficult choice. If you choose the option that responds to the idol's feelings, this will actually decrease the success rate of their debut concert.
Instead, you have to choose options that increase the “Live Success Rate” to guide the story towards a successful debut. This creates a push-pull dynamic between the character's personal desires and the group's professional goals.

Characters in Can I Not Fall for Idols?
The story centers on the manager's interactions with the Melonchu group members. There is Kagura Issa (CV: Yoshino Kaku), the group leader who bossy and confidence, and Nijo Ranmaru (CV: Fujie Tatsuya), member dance a rough-talking but loving person.
In addition, there are Mitoge Otoha (CV: Inou Koki), an easy-going and mysterious member in charge of SNS. Supporting characters Shibaura Reiji (CV: Yoshimura Yuu) is also present as an accounting staff who can help you monitor members' affection levels.
The main protagonist, Aida Mei (name may be changed), is a former idol fan who lost her memories of her favorite group in the past.
Free Demo Available on Steam
For those of you who are curious about gameplay-The developer provides a demo version that can be downloaded directly on the page Steam. This demo is unique in that it is called the “Free Complete Version”.
This demo version lets you play up to ending main story (common route). You can enjoy the full story of the manager and Melonchu's struggle until their debut concert.
However, keep in mind that this demo version only includes the general story. You won't be able to access in-depth love stories with each character in this version.
Full Version Details and Release Date
The paid version that will be released later is the “Romance Expansion Version”. This version adds exclusive content not present in the demo, namely individual romance routes for each character.
