Anime Asateer Future Folktales (Asatir: Mirai no Mukashi Banashi) comes with a concept that is quite different from many other titles. This Anime brings Arabic folklore into a TV anime format with a future setting.
Asateer Future Folktales Anime Brings Arabic Folktales
Developed by Manga Productions as a co-production with Toei Animation, Asateer Future Folktales places Arabic folklore at the center of the story. Not just as a backdrop, these folkloric elements become the basis of the story that is told from one generation to the next.
The story of this anime is set in Riyadh in 2050. Amidst family life and technological developments, Asma shares old stories with her grandchildren. Through these stories, the anime shows how values and wisdom from the past remain relevant in the future.
This approach makes Asateer Future Folktales has a pretty clear identity. The future setting is not used to move away from cultural roots, but to place Arabic folklore in a new context for the TV anime audience.
Besides anime series, Asateer Future Folktales also evolved into a broader franchise. Its continuation comes through Asateer 2 Future's Folktales, which retains the main identity of the first series.

Asateer Future Folktales Also Expands to Mobile Game
The franchise also expanded to mobile games Future's Folktales Hopper Quest, which is available through App Store, Google Play, and HUAWEI AppGallery.
