Kusunoki’s Failing Her High School Makeover has officially been adapted into an anime. The announcement was accompanied by a visual teaser and a teaser trailer, as well as preliminary information about the studio, key staff, and main cast.
Synopsis of Kusunoki’s Flunking Her High School Glow-Up
The story follows Keisuke Shizuki, a former outcast in middle school who wants to start a new life in high school. After being rejected by his first love, Shizuki changes his appearance and builds his self-confidence so he can leave his past behind.
However, her plan to lead a quiet school life changes when she runs into Shizuka Kusunoki again, a former junior high school classmate who was also once an outsider. Kusunoki is now known as the prettiest girl in school, but she still struggles to socialize.
Kusunoki then asked Shizuki for help so he could adjust to his new surroundings. For Shizuki, the situation wasn’t easy because she still felt afraid of beautiful girls due to her past experiences.

"Kusunoki’s Flunking Her High School Glow-Up" is adapted from a manga by Mitsuki Mii. The manga began serialization on the Pixiv Comic website under Ichijinsha’s Comic Pool imprint in October 2022.
There are currently seven volumes of the manga in circulation. The English-language version is also published by Kodansha USA.
