For those of you looking for a new experience in the world of indie games, there's exciting news. Wonderland Kazakiri Inc. has confirmed that their innovative puzzle RPG project, CASSETTE BOY, is coming soon to multiple platforms. The game is set to take center stage at the 2025 Tokyo Game Show.
The Unique Concept Behind CASSETTE BOY
The main inspiration for CASSETTE BOY came from the question "Does the moon cease to exist if I don't see it?". This question is closely related to a paradox in quantum mechanics. From there, the game concept directly challenges the player's perspective on the existence of objects in the digital world.
Innovative Gameplay Mechanism 'Schrödinger System'
The unique concept is realized through a core mechanism called the "Schrödinger System". The rule is simple: objects outside your view will vanish. Although the game's appearance uses a classic pixel art style, the world is designed entirely in 3D.
This allows you to rotate the camera and change the viewpoint, which is key to solving puzzles. When a monster or obstacle is blocking the path, you can simply rotate the camera until the object is blocked by a wall. As a result, the object will disappear and the path will be cleared. This mechanic requires players to think creatively and abandon the conventional way of solving puzzles.

Publisher Forever Entertainment S.A. will handle the release for Xbox Series | One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch in North America and Europe. Meanwhile, Wonderland Kazakiri Inc. will be publishing the game for Nintendo Switch in Japan and Asia, as well as for PC via Steam.
