HoYoverse has announced that Genshin Impact Version 5.5 "Day of the Flame's Return" will be released on March 26, 2024. In this update, players will explore the Great Volcano of Tollan, a volcano that holds the secrets of a long-dormant holy city.
In addition, two new characters, Varesa and Iansan, will join the battle, along with deepening exploration features.
Version 5.5 "Day of the Flame's Return"
In this expansion, players will venture into the southwestern region of Natlan and discover the Collective of Plenty, a tribe known for its physical strength and competitive traditions. The land around the volcano is extremely fertile, producing a high quality crop of fruit.
The main objective in this expedition is the Sacred City of Tollan, a city that has long been hidden within a volcano. The city is believed to be a Dragonborn relic and has many mysteries waiting to be uncovered, including the Flamelord's Blessing as well as the role of a character referred to as "Little One".
In addition, players can also use the Tatankasaurus, a new Saurian from the Collective of Plenty. With its abilities, players can crush Pulverite stone as well as run across water or liquid Phlogiston for short periods of time, opening up new exploration paths in Natlan.
New Characters
Two new characters will be available in this update, each with a unique role and fighting style.
Varesa
Varesa is a five-star Electro Catalyst user who has a fighting mechanic based on Plunging Attacks. She can enter the Fiery Passion State, which increases Electro DMG and allows access to Elemental Burst with lower energy consumption.
Another unique feature of Varesa is her special talent, which allows the team to recover Phlogiston after consuming food. Despite being formidable in battle, Varesa's daily life is much more relaxed than her counterparts.
Iansan
Iansan is a four-star Electro Polearm user who acts as a support and healer. He has the ability to increase the ATK of active characters as well as heal his teammates.
Her healing effect comes from Warming Up, which she gains when her team members trigger Nightsoul Burst. This effect allows him to periodically restore the HP of characters on the battlefield, making him a solid choice in team composition.
In the first phase of the Wishes Event, Varesa and Iansan will be present alongside Xianyun's rerun, while in the second phase, players will get the chance to acquire Xilonen and Venti.
New Events and System Optimization
In addition to exploration in Great Volcano of TollanThis update also introduces various events and system improvements.
- Bloomflower Trials returns, presenting new challenges where players can team up with Mavuika and Ifa to save a Saurian who has contracted a rare disease.
- "Saurian Treasure Seeker" Mini-gameOroron, where players can help Saurian babies overcome obstacles and collect treasures. By participating in this event, players have the opportunity to earn Ororon for free.
- New Boss: Lava Dragon StatueThe game is located in a geothermal fracture and is ready to be a challenge for players.
- Artifact leveling system optimizationSanctifying Elixirs now guarantee an increase of at least two minor affixes in each upgrade, providing a more efficient experience in character development.
Genshin Impact Version 5.5 will be available from March 26, 2024, bringing new challenges to the Great Volcano of Tollan.
