Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 hasn't made much of a public appearance yet. Square Enix also hasn't revealed any major details such as a long gameplay trailer, new screenshots, or an official release schedule. However, the latest developments from co-director Naoki Hamaguchi suggest that the project is already in a pretty serious stage. Quoted from Eurogamer, Hamaguchi revealed that he has completed more than 40 full playthroughs for the final part of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy.

Internal Progress Looks More Mature

Hamaguchi's statement is notable because a full playthrough is usually done when a game can be played from start to finish. This means that the main structure of Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 has likely already been formed internally, even though the public has yet to see much official material.

More than 40 game completions is certainly no small number. Such a process usually involves testing pacing, storyline, combat system, exploration, and gameplay balance. The development team can also find parts that feel too slow, too difficult, or not yet comfortable to play.

Even so, this does not mean that the game will be released soon. Large-scale games still require many additional steps, including polishing, performance optimization, QA, localization, and certification processes for various platforms.

Hamaguchi Emphasizes Emotions and Character Relationships

In addition to discussing the development progress, Hamaguchi also mentioned the great challenges in working on this trilogy. According to him, Final Fantasy 7 is not just about following the storyline of the original version. The relationships between characters, the emotions of players while exploring the world, and the curiosity of discovering new places are also important parts of the experience.

This approach is important because Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 will be the finale of the trilogy. Many longtime players will expect the emotional core of the original game to remain. Meanwhile, new players need a modern presentation and design to keep the experience relevant.

Preserving Heritage, Adapting the Modern Era

Square Enix still seems to be trying to maintain a balance between nostalgia and renewal. The visuals, gameplay, world structure, and storytelling need to feel modern, but the characters and emotional connections must not lose their way.

This approach has been seen since Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. The third part will have a tougher task as it has to close the various conflicts, mysteries, and narrative changes that have been built since the beginning of the trilogy.

No Official Release Date

As of now, Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 does not have an official release date. Square Enix also hasn't revealed much information about the game's content. However, the fact that Hamaguchi has already done more than 40 full playthroughs signals that development is progressing steadily.

For fans, this information at least shows that the project is not just an early concept. The game has gone far enough to be thoroughly tested by one of its directors. Now, the most anticipated thing is when Square Enix is ready to show Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 more fully to the public.
