Rockstar Games has once again caught the attention of gamers with the emergence of the new Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) on the PlayStation Store. While the game is not yet available for pre-order, its presence on Sony's digital store marks an early promotional step ahead of its official release in 2026.
Rockstar has officially announced that GTA 6 will be released on May 26, 2026. Previously, many expected the game to arrive in the fall of 2025. This delay is said to be part of the developer's commitment to perfecting the quality of the game to meet the expectations of fans around the world.
Available on PlayStation Store, but not yet available for order
GTA 6 has now appeared on the PlayStation Store. However, users can only add it to wishlist. Purchase or pre-order options are not yet available. This early arrival could be seen as Rockstar's strategy to keep players enthusiastic ahead of launch.
This step also gives a strong signal that the production and distribution process of digital content for this game has begun to be prepared gradually by the publisher.
Interestingly, all the footage in GTA 6 second trailer taken from gameplay run on PlayStation 5 standard, not the Pro version. This has led to speculation that Rockstar may be prioritizing Sony's console as a platform main for the initial release of GTA 6, although there is indeed an Xbox Series X/S logo at the end of the trailer.

GTA 6: More Expensive than Previous Games?
Official price GTA 6 has not yet been announced. However, looking at the price trend of the latest generation of games that can reach up to USD 90, many analysts predict that GTA 6 will sell for around USD 100 to USD 120. Factors such as import tariffs, regional distribution, and additional content can also affect prices in different countries.
For gamers in Indonesia and Southeast Asia, the final price will likely also adjust for digital taxes and currency exchange rates when the game launches.
Rockstar seems to be firing up the GTA 6 promotion machine right from the start. By getting the game on the PlayStation Store well ahead of launch, they're giving fans room to start putting the game on their wish lists.
The campaign also hints that the next promotional process will be gradual, ranging from teaser trailers, main character information, to a possible limited demo.
