AKG Entertainment as the Pokémon license holder in Indonesia and the official distributor of Pokémon Collectible Card Game, participated in the event Indonesia Game Week 2025 by holding sessions talkshow titled Behind the Deck: Pokémon Game Collectible Cards. In this event, AKG Entertainment introduced Indonesia's representative for the 2025 Pokémon World Championships which will be held in Anaheim, California, United States. In addition to introducing representatives, AKG Entertainment also introduced a new Pokémon TCG card series entitled "Black & White."
Coaches Representing Indonesia at the 2025 Pokémon World Championships
On this occasion, AKG Entertainment said that trainers (as Pokémon TCG players are called) from Indonesia are preparing to participate in PWC 2025. Indonesia has as many invitations as 20 Pokémon trainers who will compete in Anaheim, California, USA, on August 15-17, 2025. The invitational is divided into three divisions:
- 5 trainers Junior Division (7-12 years)
- 5 trainers Senior Division (13-19 years old)
- 10 trainers Master Division (20 years and above)
In this session, three representative coaches were present to share their preparation stories. The names of the representative coaches are:
- Arlen Siswara Wong (Junior Division)
- Lionel Mikael Tan (Senior Division)
- Terry Hilario Santoso (Master Division)
The three coaches shared that they practice every day after finishing their daily activities such as school, not only practicing on weekdays, they still practice on holidays. This shows how seriously the coaches are preparing to attend and face the PWC 2025 international event.
Then these three coaches also divulged the card decks they will use in PWC 2025. The card decks that will be used are Dragapult and DusknoirOf course, with strategies tailored to their respective divisions. The reason they use Dragapult because this deck is considered strong, consistent, and requires skills to play it. According to Reyhan Syofyano, AKG Entertainment's Head of Business Development, the Pokémon TCG community in Indonesia has now more than 14,000 active trainers. He hopes that participation in the world championship can boost the spirit of competition and thrive in the local community.
Launch of New Card Series "Black & White"
In addition to introducing Indonesia's representative coach, AKG Entertainment also launched a new card series titled "Black & White" which began its release on July 25, 2025. This series features 156 Pokémon from the Unova regionand introducing new types of scarcity: Black White Rare (BWR).
BWR cards have a dominant monochrome design that catches the attention of players and collectors alike. The BWR rarity type exists in only two featured cards in the series viz:
- Zekrom ex
- Reshiram ex
According to Fachrul AmrullahAccording to AKG Entertainment's Head of Marketing, BWR's unique design is expected to add to the appeal of the game for both collectors and competitive players.
Pokémon Championship 2025-2026 Tournament to Be Held Soon
Towards the end of the year, AKG Entertainment is also preparing a series of tournaments Pokémon Asia Championship Series 2025-2026 which will be held in various major cities. One of the main events, Premier Ball League, scheduled to take place on November 22-23, 2025 at Pondok Indah Mall 3, Jakarta, registration is open from August 21, 2025.
