Team17 has officially announced *The Escapists 3*. This game is the latest installment in the prison escape simulation series. *The Escapists 3* is scheduled for release in 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam.

According to the official description on the Steam page, The Escapists 3 features a new 3D prison sandbox. This means you’re free to decide for yourself how to escape from prison. You can play it alone or with friends.
In prison, you need to learn the daily schedule and keep an eye on the guards. You can also take on jobs to earn money. You can take items that aren’t being watched. You can also turn everyday items into tools to help you escape. However, you must still be present during roll call, which is when the number of inmates is checked.
There are many ways to escape. You can dig a tunnel under the wall. You can also climb, sneak, fight, or go undercover. Team17 notes that there’s no single right solution. In fact, according to the description, there’s even a plan involving melted chocolate.
Five prisons and areas outside the walls
The Escapists 3 will feature five prisons. Each prison has its own routines, characters, and secrets. You can learn how each prison works and find loopholes in the system.
To obtain equipment, you can search your cell and trade items with other inmates. You can also complete tasks to earn items. According to Team17, the game features more than 120 items and weapons. All of these items can be collected as loot or crafted using the crafting system.
