Fall 2026 brings us several original mecha anime with different approaches. There are classic super robot stories, large-scale family conflicts, and even esports battles that dominate a region’s economy.
3. Jyu-Oh Mujin Dandivine
Jyu-Oh Mujin Dandivine (Beast King War God Dandivine) Set 20 years after the Dandivine robot team defeated a mysterious enemy named Aposdoll. Since then, the world has lived in peace. However, the Kasuga toy company has continued to struggle because it relies too heavily on its Dandivine toy line.
President Kasuga, Genjuro Shijima, wants Dandivine to return to action, even though that desire could undermine world peace. Before long, the Aposdolls do indeed reappear in Tokyo. The public, which had lived in peace for 20 years, immediately panicked. Amid the chaos, a high school student named Gekiha Shijima boarded the Dandivine at the urging of his uncle, Yusaku Kuroiwa, who had once been the robot’s chief pilot.
This anime is interesting because it explores the business side of the super robot franchise. The story features two parallel conflicts. The first is the goal of the newly emerged Aposdoll. The second is Kasuga’s effort to regain leadership of the toy industry.
2. Vertex Force
Vertex Force The story follows Akira Todo, a middle school student living in northern Okinawa. Akira leads a peaceful life with his older sister, Haruka, and their mother, who runs a café. However, this family harbors a secret. Haruka possesses a power called “Engine” that she inherited from their father.
Akira didn’t possess the same powers. This made Akira feel inferior because he always needed Haruka’s protection. One day, strange events began to occur in various places around the world. An unknown enemy then began to target Akira and the people around him.
This anime is compelling because it builds a major conflict out of a simple personal issue. Akira’s feelings as a younger sibling without any powers serve as the emotional core of the story. Questions about the enemy’s motives also set the stage for battles involving young people who bear the fate of the universe on their shoulders.
1. Dark Machine: The Animation
Dark Machine: The Animation Set in a world where the esports game DARK MACHINE is wildly popular across the globe, the game has even transformed Japan’s economy. One result of this is an exclusive economic zone called Golden Valley. The strongest players in DARK MACHINE are awarded the title “Senki,” and the seventh Senki, Ajima, now rules Golden Valley through the game.
The protagonist, Kairi, arrives in Golden Valley bearing a final message from her late grandfather: “Find Senki.” There, Kairi meets a young girl named Rudora who is being chased by Ajima’s henchmen. After meeting Rudora, Kairi becomes a DARK MACHINE player. His skills continue to improve with every battle.
This anime is compelling because it combines mecha, esports, and economic power into a single story. Kairi’s journey to the top of DARK MACHINE also holds a mystery surrounding her grandfather’s message. The battle against Senki will determine whether Kairi can choose her own path in life.
