One or EIGHT and Team EARTH WARS officially announced Warota: I Live Next to The Demon King's Castle LOL, a village-building action RPG game with a fairly unique premise. Quoted[ from Gematsu, The game is scheduled to release first for PC via Steam in the winter of 2026, followed by PlayStation 5 and Switch 2 in 2027.

This game takes place in a world called Luna, a place that has been destroyed after the Demon King took control of the Gates. Players take on the role of Bounder, a rare figure who has the power to recreate things that have been lost. The main task is to build a village, gather resources, recruit residents, and survive the threat of monsters coming from the Demon King's castle next to the village.

Isekai Premise with a Touch of Comedy

Warota: I Live Next to The Demon King's Castle LOL brings an isekai-style story packed with comedic nuances. The main character is reincarnated into another world after being saved by a goddess. The problem is, his new home turns out to be right next to the Demon King's castle.

This situation becomes the main source of conflict. The Demon King in this game is not just an ordinary evil ruler, but is also described as an idol who holds “Live”. Every time the event takes place, monsters go wild and attack the player's village. This premise gives a different color compared to fantasy action RPG games that usually take a more serious approach.

Gameplay Combines Village Build and Action RPG

Gameplay Warota The game focuses on village building, material collection, crafting, and monster battles. Players can build more than 30 types of buildings, including facilities that support the lives of residents and village defenses.

The more the village develops, the more residents come. They not only serve to decorate the area, but also have an important role in the game system. Residents can work in the fields, cook, guard the village, or go on adventures with the player.

This element makes the gameplay feel like a mix between village-building, light life-sim, and action RPG. Players need to balance building activities, managing citizens, and preparing for monster attacks.

Hat-based Class System

One of the main features Warota is a class system determined by hats. Each hat has the power of a goddess and determines the class of the character wearing it. More than 20 classes are available, including Farmer, Woodcutter, Warrior, Mage, Cook, and Sentinel.

This system applies to both players and villagers. This means that players can give hats to villagers to determine their jobs or roles. This concept makes the class settings feel simple, easy to read, and flexible enough for various play styles.

In addition to classes, players can also obtain Divine Blessings from Goddess Statues scattered around the world. These Blessings can increase attack power, recovery speed, elemental effects, and other abilities that help shape fighting styles.

Monster Attack from the Demon King Concert

The main threat in Warota came from “Live” held by Idol Demon King. When the concert started, waves of monsters invaded the village and forced players to defend.

Players need to strengthen defenses, manage resident roles, and deal with bosses that appear during attacks. This system provides a rhythm between the relaxed phase of building the village and the intense phase when the village must be defended.

If the execution goes well, Warota: I Live Next to The Demon King's Castle LOL can be an interesting game for players who like a mix of action RPG, village-building, and fantasy humor. The premise is light, the system is quite layered, and the concept of living next to the Demon King's castle gives it a memorable identity.
