TV Series Ghost in the Shell Anime is officially announced to begin airing in Japan in July 2026. The announcement comes on the heels of the opening of the “Ghost and the Shell” exhibition currently underway at NODE Tokyo.

The legendary franchise is back with a highly anticipated new animated TV production. Victor Entertainment Group and FlyingDog, Inc. confirmed the release schedule for Summer 2026. Along with this info, the first Key Visual and Promotional Video (PV) have also been released to the public.

This announcement is part of “Ghost and the Shell” exhibition” held at TOKYO NODE GALLERY, Toranomon Hills Station Tower. This event commemorates the 30th Anniversary of the anime production and is the first large-scale exhibition to combine the entire history of the franchise in one place.
The exhibition, which runs from January 30 to April 5, 2026, features materials from anime Science SARU's new work alongside the director's previous work.
Visitors can see more than 1,000 valuable documents on display. This collection includes original drawings, storyboards, In addition, there are interactive installations created in collaboration with contemporary creators, as well as material that has never been shown before. Ghost in the Shell Anime Music Staff
One of the major highlights of this anime is the lineup of musicians involved. Three renowned composers were appointed to handle the audio aspect, promising an immersive experience for the audience.
Taisei Iwasaki, known for his Belle (Ryuu to Sobakasu Hime), will act as Musical Director. He brings the concept of “Sound Public Security Sector 9” to the series.
This collaboration also involves international talents. Ryo Konishi, who previously handled the music for the Osaka World Expo, will work with Yuki Kanesaka, a composer based in the United States. The music production process involves a cross-country creative journey, from Tokyo to Nashville to Shanghai.

- Taisei Iwasaki: Musical Director (Belle, Kekkai Sensen). Winner of the Japan Academy Award for Best Music.
- Ryo Konishi: Collaborator (Osaka World Expo, Mrs. Green Apple). Multi-instrumentalist active in major music festivals.
- Yuki Kanesaka: Composer (Dr. Stone, Jujutsu Kaisen). Boston-based music creator who also teaches at Berklee College of Music.
