Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia is starting to reveal important details for its TV anime adaptation. Anime is scheduled to air in July 2026.
Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia is a TV anime adaptation of the manga A Witch's Life in Mongol or Tenmaku no Jadugar by Tomato Soup.
Along with the announcement of the airing schedule, the anime also unveiled the first PV video, character visuals, and the lineup of voice actors and production staff. This video also features the character's voice for the first time.
Synopsis of Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia Set in the 13th Century
Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia is set in the 13th century, with a story that begins in the slave markets of Iran. The anime follows Sitara, a young girl who loses her mother and is separated from her homeland.
Sitara was then taken in by a family of scholars and spent her days learning many things. From Muhammad, Fatima's son, she began to understand the importance of knowledge and wisdom.
Along the way, the Mongol Empire under Genghis Khan continued to expand its territory. When the invasion reached the town where Sitara lived, her life changed completely. Having lost everything, Sitara vowed to avenge the empire.

About Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia
Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia is based on a manga by Tomato Soup that was first published on Akita Shoten's Souffle website in September 2021. Akita Shoten then published the manga's fifth compilation volume in April 2025.
The manga also began simultaneous publication in Mystery Bonita magazine from March 2025, in addition to its publication in Souffle. The series was previously published bi-monthly, then went on hiatus last Summer due to Tomato Soup's maternity leave. The manga is set to return this year.
In terms of achievements, this manga took the top spot in Kono Manga ga Sugoi! 2023 for the female readers category. In the 2024 ranking for the same category, this manga came in at #11.
It was also nominated for the Manga Taisho Awards in 2023 and 2024. In addition, the same title was nominated for Best New Manga at the second edition of the American Manga Awards.
For the anime version, Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia was also selected for the Official Competition in the TV Films category at the 2026 Annecy International Animation Film Festival. The festival is scheduled to take place from June 21 to 27, 2026.
With the first main PV, character visuals, and production details now out in the open, the anime is starting to paint a clearer picture ahead of its July 2026 airing.
