DHXP 2026 also marks the 12th year for the Bandung-based game studio. The main focus is on DreadOut 3 and Broomstick Exorcist. At the same time, there are also updates for DreadOut Remastered Collection, DreadHaunt, and Jurnal Risa: Dark Destiny.
DHXP 2026 Online Showcase
Digital Happiness also premiered the DHXP 2026 Online Showcase alongside their latest information release.
Digital Happiness Unveils New Update for DreadOut 3
DreadOut 3 DHXP 2026 is one of the main focuses. In addition to the updates that previously appeared regularly through devlogs, this time Digital Happiness showed additional sneak peeks, new visuals, and gameplay footage with a longer duration.

The showcase also featured the involvement of several partners and collaborators in the development of DreadOut 3. Names mentioned include EXP, Morfosic, Roleplay Studio, and Anwita Citriya.
The collaboration covers several areas, from audio, animation, to visual asset development. From this update, DreadOut 3 is still seen as one of the main projects being pushed by the studio.
Broomstick Exorcist Shows New Extended Gameplay
Broomstick Exorcist also got a big portion in this year's showcase. Having previously released combat demo that highlights the core mechanics, game, is now showing extended gameplay for the first time.

Broomstick Exorcist was introduced as a hand-drawn manga-style 2.5D beat-em-up set in a mystical Asian-Indonesian world. Through this game, Digital Happiness explores another approach to local supernatural themes outside of the traditional horror format that has been associated with the DreadOut series.
The footage shown in DHXP 2026 is also said to be new footage that has never been published before. So, this update gives a clearer picture of the gameplay direction that is being built for the game.
Broomstick Exorcist is also interesting because of its quite different position in the Digital Happiness catalog. If DreadOut has been known for its horror approach, this game moves through a beat-em-up format with a more distinctive visual style.
PlayEatSleep also covered this game back when trying out the Broomstick Exorcist at TGS 2025.
Digital Happiness shares updates for released games
Outside of these two main titles, Digital Happiness also shared the progress for several other games that have already been released or announced.
DreadOut Remastered Collection is one of the titles that received an update. The game, which was released in 2025, is now receiving various quality-of-life updates and has Steam Deck Verified status.

In addition, the DreadOut Remastered Collection also begins arriving on the Epic Games Store on May 14, 2026. In the documents shared, this release is done through Soft Source as a co-publishing partner.
DreadHaunt also received a further update. Since its release, the game has continued to evolve through the addition of several game modes, including single-player mode, assault mode, and other gameplay updates.

During DHXP 2026, Digital Happiness also announced cross-play support between Xbox and Steam for DreadHaunt. This information is one of the important updates for the game.
Risa's Journal: Dark Destiny also got another update. This time, Digital Happiness said that this game will be released on various consoles in the near future.

This series of updates shows that DHXP 2026 is not only used to highlight new games or games in development. The showcase is also used to provide a continuation of information on titles that have already made their way into the catalog.
DreadOut 2 Publisher Demo Now Open to the Public
One of the most notable announcements of DHXP 2026 was the release of the DreadOut 2 Publisher Demo. This build is a rare vertical slice prototype that was previously only shown to a number of publishers when Digital Happiness was still looking for co-publishing partners for DreadOut 2.

In the end, the studio chose to self-publish DreadOut 2. After that, the release of the console version was done with Soft Source in a co-publishing format.
This early build shows a different approach from the final version of DreadOut 2. That version featured a stronger gothic fantasy action feel before the development direction was brought back to more grounded horror.
Gameplay-wise, this build also showcases the creative exploration and form-finding phase that helped shape the DreadOut series. As such, this demo is not just a newly unlocked old build, but also an important record of the game's development process.
Now, that alternate version is available on Steam for the first time. Its presence gives the public a chance to see the initial direction of DreadOut 2 before the game takes the final form that players are familiar with.
Prototype Internal Close Showcase
Digital Happiness also featured a Prototype Showcase that contained a compilation of footage from various internal prototypes. These prototypes were developed in between work on the studio's main game.

This section shows the exploration of ideas, visual approaches, and gameplay experiments that helped shape the direction of their project. So, DHXP 2026 doesn't just contain updates for the already announced game, but also shows the creative process that goes on behind the scenes.
With DHXP 2026, Digital Happiness is showing a continuation of a familiar series as well as an update to their current lineup. Along with that, they also revealed Steam sale page DHXP 2026 as part of the special anniversary sale celebration.
