NetEase Games and Starry Studio announced Once Human Now available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Console users can now play this free-to-play survival game. The release of these console versions brings exclusive benefits for Xbox Game Pass subscribers and DualSense features for PlayStation 5.
The World of Anomalies in *Once Human*
Once Human is set in a post-apocalyptic world called Strange Worlds. Players explore regions infected with Stardust. A phenomenon known as an “anomaly” is central to the game’s entire gameplay.
Anomalies are a key element for survival. Players use anomalies to build automated shelters. Players can also mutate themselves for combat purposes. Anomalies are used for everything from crafting to fighting.
First-Person Perspective and Cross-Play
The console version offers more than 300 hours of gameplay right from day one. *Once Human* on console also supports a first-person perspective. Players can switch between third-person and first-person views at any time.
Cross-play and cross-progression are also fully supported. PC and mobile players can continue their progress on consoles. Players can play with friends across platforms.
Exclusive Xbox Game Pass Benefits

The Isles of Abyss Expansion in October
Once Human is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and mobile. The Ocean expansion, titled Isles of Abyss, will be released in October 2026. This expansion will be available on all platforms.
Isles of Abyss is billed as the largest content expansion in the history of Once Human. This expansion introduces new survival gameplay that spans islands, the ocean’s surface, and the deep sea. The ocean is depicted as a living entity, with gazing towers, ghost ships, and mechanical behemoths lurking in its depths.
Players must build their own Sea Fortress to survive in these treacherous seas. The Sea Fortress starts out as a simple wooden raft. Players can continue to expand this raft into a mobile maritime sanctuary.
