SEGA announced that SONIC X SHADOW GENERATIONS has sold more than 3 million units worldwide as of October 26, 2026. This figure includes both physical and digital sales across all platforms where the game is available.
This milestone comes about two years after the game’s initial release on October 25, 2024. SONIC X SHADOW GENERATIONS is currently available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.

Two adventures in one package
SONIC X SHADOW GENERATIONS combines two games into one collection. The first is a complete remaster of SONIC GENERATIONS, a compilation of the best 3D and 2D stages from Sonic’s history, featuring enhanced visuals and additional bonus content.
Second is SHADOW GENERATIONS, a new campaign featuring Shadow the Hedgehog as the main character. So, you can enjoy two high-speed adventures with different playstyles in a single game.
Sonic and Shadow Confront the Past
The story begins when a mysterious creature throws space and time into chaos. To save the future, Sonic and Shadow must confront their respective pasts.
