Crunchyroll is back with the biggest annual celebration for the anime community. With a nomination list that includes popular titles and a diverse range of creators, as well as the presence of international celebrities on the main stage, the Crunchyroll Anime Awards 2025 is set to be the highlight of the year. What is the Crunchyroll Anime Awards?

The Crunchyroll Anime Awards is an annual global awards show that recognizes the best anime in a variety of categories, from characters and animation, to music and voice acting. This year is the 9th edition of the event, which is again organized by Crunchyroll-the world's largest anime streaming platform.

Rahul Purini, President of Crunchyroll, explained that "The Crunchyroll Anime Awards is one of the most important moments of the year for fans, as we get to hear directly from them about the anime they love, while honoring the creative community behind the work. Anime continues to have a strong emotional impact on its fans, and the biggest awards night in anime is sure to bring a lot of excitement and pride-both for fans and creators. This year, the nominees represent more than 50 series and movies developed by more than 35 talented anime studios."

Crunchyroll Anime Awards Schedule and Live

The Crunchyroll Anime Awards 2025 will be held on Sunday, May 25, 2025 at the Grand Prince Hotel Shin Takanawa, Tokyo, Japan. The event will be hosted by Sally Amaki and Jon Kabira, and broadcast globally via livestream for fans from around the world to watch.

The list of presenters who will be appearing is very diverse. You will see actors Stranger ThingsFinn Wolfhard and Gaten Matarazzo, singer Damiano David of Måneskin, and snowboarder Chloe Kim. Other names such as DEAN FUJIOKA, Kanata Hongo, Mayu Matsuoka, Saya Ichikawa, Ironmouse, d4vd, Pabllo Vittar, Ben Whittaker, Plastique Tiara, Rina Sawayama, Paloma Mami, and Gigguk will also be in attendance. The event will open with remarks from Hiroki Totoki, President and CEO of Sony Group Corporation.
