Glen Schofield, Bret Robbins, and Christopher Stone-three figures behind the iconic horror series Dead Space-recently revealed that it has submitted a proposal to Dead Space 4 to Electronic Arts (EA) this year. However, EA rejected the proposal without further consideration.

Outright Rejected

Quoted from PC GamerIn an interview on the Dan Allen Gaming Podcast, Schofield stated, "We tried, actually, all three of us. Dead Space 4. They said no. We talked this year [we filed it]. We didn't delve too far. They just said, 'We're not interested at the moment, we appreciate it, blah blah blah.' And we knew who to talk to, so we didn't pursue it, and we respected their opinion, they know their numbers and what they have to release."

Nonetheless, the team has some ideas for the continuation of the story, given that Dead Space 3 ended on a cliffhanger that left the fate of protagonists Isaac Clarke and John Carver in limbo. Stone added, "It's a strange time in the industry right now. People are very hesitant to take risks on things. So, take it with a grain of salt. Who knows, maybe one day. I think we all want to do it. I would make Dead Space 4.”

After releasing The Callisto ProtocolSchofield left Striking Distance Studios and is currently seeking funding for a smaller project that he says is "very special." EA's rejection of Dead Space 4 may be influenced by performance The Callisto Protocol which did not meet the sales expectations of its publisher, Krafton.

Nonetheless, gamers remain hopeful that one day, Dead Space 4 will become a reality.
