For connoisseurs anime With the romance drama genre, there is one interesting title to look forward to. This award-winning novel about the meeting of two characters with contrasting backgrounds is finally getting an anime series adaptation. During the FES 2026 GA event, the first details about the anime were revealed. Love Unseen Beneath the Clear Night Sky was officially revealed, from the airing schedule to the main visuals.
Story and Trailer of Love Unseen Beneath the Clear Night Sky
Based on the teaser trailer that has been released, the anime is scheduled to air in Summer 2026, July to be exact. The story follows Kakeru Sorano, a freshman who tends to shut himself off from socializing.
One spring night, her dorm mate Narumi invites her to a welcome party. It is there that she meets Koharu Fuyutsuki, a blind girl who is the complete opposite of her; Koharu is always cheerful and full of dreams.
Their interaction grew closer after Kakeru helped Koharu with her white cane after class. Their relationship slowly thawed until one day Koharu expressed a simple yet meaningful wish: “I want to see fireworks.”
That sentence became a light for Kakeru, who had been reluctant to look to the future. This is a gentle romance narrative about two people looking for hope in the midst of their limitations.
Production Staff and Voiceover
Studio MAKARIA is entrusted with producing this animation under the direction of director Joe Yoshizaki. The story script is handled by Yuko Kakihara who previously succeeded with The Apothecary Diaries.
Meanwhile, the character designs were done by Yoshihiro Sawada and Yuzuki Ishii based on raemz's original illustrations.

About Love Unseen Beneath the Clear Night Sky
The anime is based on the light novel by Nanigashi Shima with illustrations by raemz. Since its release in August 2023, the novel has won the Grand Prize at the 15th GA Bunko Awards.
In addition, this work was also ranked #3 in the new title category at Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! 2024. This achievement shows the strong quality of the story before it was lifted to the animated format.
Before the anime version, this story has been adapted into live-action series in December 2025 and the manga on Manga UP! Square Enix. You can look forward to its premiere in Summer 2026.
