Netflix will release an animated series stop-motion titled My Melody & Kuromi globally on July 24, 2025. The series features two iconic Sanrio characters in a culinary competition-themed story, and is part of the 50th anniversary for My Melody and 20th anniversary for Kuromi.
Synopsis of My Melody & Kuromi
The story is set in Mariland. My Melody opened a cake shop and found a pink heart in the forest. After the discovery, various mysterious events began to occur around her.
Across the street, Kuromi runs a Japanese sweets shop that has yet to attract customers. He tries to find out the secret to My Melody's success. The two then prepare for a baking competition that will be judged by the famous pastry chef, Pistachio. This competition is the beginning of an incident that could threaten Mariland.

About My Melody & Kuromi
My Melody was first introduced by Sanrio in 1975. The character is depicted as a white rabbit wearing a red hood. This year marks the 50th anniversary for My Melody.
Kuromi first appeared in 2005 and is known for his contrasting look, wearing a black hat with a skull emblem. The year 2025 is also the 20th anniversary for Kuromi.
Serial My Melody & Kuromi consists of 12 episodes with a duration of about 13 minutes per episode. The series will air exclusively on Netflix and is part of Sanrio's two-character commemorative project that continues to grow globally.
