A phenomenal game from WSS Playground, Needy Streamer Overload, will officially get an adaptation anime. This announcement from Aniplex confirms the visualization of the psychological tale of a streamer hungry for validation, complete with the airdate and the main staff.
Needy Streamer Overload Release Details and Prime Visuals
According to the official announcement, the anime Needy Streamer Overload is scheduled to begin airing in April 2026. Along with this information, a first key visual has been released, featuring the main character with a distinctive aesthetic that gives an early idea of the art direction of the anime adaptation.
In addition, there will be advanced screenings of the movie version, which is a special edition of the TV episodes. These screenings will take place at the Shinjuku Theater in Tokyo and the Umeda Theater in Osaka, giving fans in Japan a chance to catch it early on the big screen.

The director position is held by Masaoki Nakajima, who was previously involved in New PANTY & STOCKING with GARTERBELT and Blue Archive The Animation.
The involvement of nyalra, the original game's screenwriter, as supervisor and anime screenwriter provides assurance that the essence of the narrative will be maintained. Ohisashiburi's original character designs will also be the main basis for the anime version.

Needy Streamer Overload (known as Needy Girl Overdose in Japan) is an adventure game with multi-ending. Players take on the role of “P”, who is tasked with managing the life of a girl named Ame-chan for 30 days. The goal is to help her become the “greatest internet streamer” through her alter-ego persona, “OMGkawaiiAngel-chan”.
The game is known for its exploration of themes such as mental health, internet culture, and the extreme need for validation, presented in an aesthetic of pixel art which is typical.

Since its release by WSS Playground and Xemono in January 2022, the game has been a global success with over three million downloads. Its popularity has made the game available on multiple platforms, ranging from PC (Steam) to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
Before the announcement of this anime, franchise has also ventured into manga media. The adaptation titled Needy Girl Overdose: Run with My Sick by Itaru Bonnoki has started serialization on the Manga Cross website since March 2023. The arrival of this anime adaptation is the next step in the development of the franchise which is constantly evolving.
With a solid production team and strong source material, the anime adaptation of Needy Streamer Overload became one of the most anticipated titles for 2026.
