Characters from the game NEEDY STREAMER OVERLOAD can now accompany your daily life right on your desktop screen. Through a collaboration with Desktop Mate, Ame-chan and her streamer persona, OMGkawaiiAngel, have been officially released.
This collaboration provides a new experience for fans to interact with their favorite characters.
Desktop Mate and its Latest Collaboration
Desktop Mate is a platform that brings high-quality 3D mascots to the PC screen. These characters can move and interact dynamically with desktop elements such as application windows and mouse cursors, serving as virtual companions without interfering with the user's main activity.
Infinite Loop has released downloadable content (DLC) for the platform featuring two characters from NEEDY STREAMER OVERLOAD. You can check out the official trailer below.
This collaboration presents Ame-chan and OMGkawaiiAngel with new 3D models created specifically for Desktop Mate, ensuring an accurate and high-quality visual representation faithful to the original material.
Unique Features of Character Transformations and Moves
The main feature offered in this collaboration is a special transformation animation. This feature can be accessed if the user owns both character DLCs. By displaying Ame-chan on the screen and selecting OMGkawaiiAngel from the “Change Character” menu, a special transition animation inspired by a scene in the original game will play.
Each character also comes with a unique set of animations that reflect their personality, which you can see in the video showcase each character.
OMGkawaiiAngel
As internet angel, The movements are designed to be expressive and energetic. The animations include dances para-para and other internet meme-inspired movements, capturing the streamer's persona in full.
Ame-chan
The animations emphasize subtle and personalized emotional expressions. Users can see her interacting with her phone while occasionally glancing at the screen, a small detail designed to showcase the more reserved side of her personality.
Purchase Options and Special Bundles on Desktop Mate
This collaboration content is available for purchase through the Steam platform.
Users can purchase each DLC individually, such as Desktop Mate - OMGkawaiiAngel DLC or Desktop Mate - Ame-chan DLC, priced at 2,200 JPY (Rp 165,999) each.
To use this DLC, you need to install the Desktop Mate base app, which is available for free at Steam.
For a more complete experience, there are several bundle options available. OMGkawaiiAngel & Ame-chan DLC Bundle which contains both DLCs is offered for JPY 3,960 (USD 298,798), including the 10% discount.
In addition, there are also NEEDY STREAMER OVERLOAD・Desktop Mate DLC Bundle which includes the base game and both DLCs for a total price of 4,716 JPY ($343,797), including the 12% discount.
New Character Lineup for Desktop Mate Expansion
Collaboration with NEEDY STREAMER OVERLOAD is part of Infinite Loop's long-term plans for their platform. The developer has confirmed that more popular characters will be added into the Desktop Mate family in the future.
Some of the names that have been announced include Hanakuma Chifuyu, character voice-synthesis series, as well as two characters from the popular Touhou Project, namely Hakurei Reimu and Kirisame Marisa. This plan shows the developer's commitment to continuously enriching the content available on Desktop Mate.
About NEEDY STREAMER OVERLOAD
NEEDY STREAMER OVERLOAD is an adventure game with multiple endings (multi-ending). In this game, players take on the role of “P-chan” who is tasked with managing the daily life of a girl named Ame-chan. The goal is to help her reach one million followers and become the “greatest internet angel” through her alter-ego persona, “OMGkawaiiAngel”.
Since its release by WSS Playground and Xemono in January 2022, the game has been a global success with over three million copies sold. Its popularity has made the game available on multiple platforms, ranging from PC (Steam) to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
This success paved the way for franchise to expand into other media. The manga adaptation titled Needy Girl Overdose: Run with My Sick has started serialization since March 2023.
