Nintendo and Lego presenting a replica Game Boy in the form of a Lego kit. The product is designed in 1:1 scale and released as part of a project that revives classic video game icons in an assemblable format.
Nintendo × Lego
Collaborations between Nintendo and Lego are nothing new, but this project highlights one of the most iconic devices in video game history.
Through this partnership, the two present a Game Boy-themed Lego kit designed to resemble the original model in detail and proportion.
This project continues in the footsteps of their previous collaborations such as the Super Mario and NES series, but now focuses on the highly recognizable classic handheld format.
Lego Game Boy Details that are Faithful to the Original
The Lego Game Boy is made with dimensions of 14 × 9 × 3 cm, matching the size of the original device. The kit consists of 421 Lego pieces arranged to replicate the exterior of the console, including the pressable D-pad, A, B, Start, and Select buttons. The volume and contrast dials are also replicated on the side of the unit.

The kit's screen uses a transparent plastic panel instead of a glass sticker. The Nintendo logo that normally appears when the system is powered on is also included as part of the screen display. This assembled model is non-electronic and cannot be used for play.
Two Iconic Games in Lego Format
This package includes two replica cartridges, namely Super Mario Land and The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening. Each features distinctive artwork that can be paired behind a transparent screen, creating a visual display that resembles the original console.
As a complement, the kit also includes lenticular screens-Special print elements that produce different visual effects depending on the angle of view.
Users can choose between game screen of the two titles, or Nintendo startup screen as when the device is turned on.

The cartridges are physically separated and can be manually detached into the slots provided on the assembled unit, resembling the interaction on the original handheld console. Both titles were chosen because they were developed directly by Nintendo and represent two iconic franchises from their product line.

About Game Boy
The Game Boy was developed by an internal Nintendo team led by Gunpei Yokoi of the Nintendo R&D1 division. The console was first released in Japan on April 21, 1989, followed by North America on July 31, 1989, and Europe on September 28, 1990.
With its monochrome LCD screen and interchangeable cartridge system, the Game Boy was designed as a lightweight, power-saving, and easy-to-carry handheld device, making it a perfect fit for the casual and children's market.
Since its initial release, the Game Boy instantly became a global phenomenon thanks to its combination of simple design and support for popular titles like Tetris, Pokemon, and Super Mario Land.
The console played a huge role in expanding the portable video game market and became one of Nintendo's most successful products. By 2003, the Game Boy and its variants had sold over 118 million units worldwide.
This 1:1 scale build kit is part of a Lego and Nintendo collaboration that reimagines classic console designs in the form of buildable models. This product is made as a collectible item and has no electronic functionality.
