TO Books officially confirms that Toko Amekawa's light novel series will be getting an adaptation anime. The title of this animated series is Reincarnated in a Mafia Dating Sim.
This announcement certainly caught the attention of fans who follow the development of the genre otome isekai with a unique theme. This series offers a different feel by combining elements of romance and a fantasy crime world.
Reincarnated in a Mafia Dating Sim Storyline
The main focus of the series is Francesca Calvino. She is the reincarnation of a yakuza boss's granddaughter who has now come back to life as heroine in otome game mafia-themed. The world in game It has a fantasy setting where crime bosses serve the king.
Francesca realized that her character was destined to live a wretched life without friends. Armed with her memories and upbringing from her previous life, she devises a plan to avoid this terrible fate. Her ultimate goal is to leave the world of organized crime and live a normal life.
Francesca's first agenda item was to cancel the engagement with Leonardo Aldini. Leonardo is depicted as the young head of the Aldini family and is the villain the main character in the story game that. However, Francesca's efforts did not go as planned.
When she was kidnapped, Francesca was able to handle the situation on her own without the help of the male lead. This unexpected ability makes Leonardo even more interested. Development of Novel and Manga Publications
Toko Amekawa started serializing this story on the website Shosetsuka ni Naro in 2022. TO Books then published the first volume of the physical novel in May 2023.
The illustrations for the early volumes were handled by Meiji Anno. However, starting from the fourth volume published on August 1, the illustrator position was taken over by LINO. Meiji Anno handled the illustrations until the third volume.
In addition to the novel format, the story was also adapted into a manga by Sora Goto. Goto is also credited as the original character designer for the series. The manga adaptation began airing on the manga site Corona EX owned by TO Books in January 2023.
The fourth compilation volume of the manga was shipped on March 1. TO Books is scheduled to ship the fifth volume for the novel and manga simultaneously on December 1. In the international market, Tokyopop holds the license for the manga adaptation and has published the second volume on September 2.
