Eastshade Studios has announced the release date for its new game. Songs of Glimmerwick will be released for PC via Steam on September 30, 2026. The console version will follow at a date to be announced.
A New Life at Glimmerwick School of Magic
The game’s story is set in Glimmerwick, a region famous for its magic university. Players take on the role of a new student who has just been accepted into the university. Over the course of an academic year, players will attend classes, make friends with fellow students and townspeople, and uncover the various mysteries and unique aspects of Glimmerwick. The game features seasonal cycles, festivals, and curses that unfold throughout the story.
Music as a Mantra, the Flute as a Weapon
Music is the main driving force in Songs of Glimmerwick. The player carries a flute and a songbook to cast spells through the songs they play. Music is used to communicate with trees, automatically activate tools, and lift the ground to get past obstacles.
In addition to classes and spells, players can also tend to the university garden. This garden can be planted with both ordinary and magical plants, and can even be used to summon rain. Players can also choose skills from the character progression system, such as gardening, trading, or unique abilities like talking to frogs.

- RPG-Style Quests — Quests with storylines centered on unique characters.
- Tend the University Garden — Growing ordinary plants as well as magical plants, including summoning rain.

- Character Progression — Skills in gardening, trading, or other unique abilities, such as talking to frogs.
- A Lively World — Class dynamics, neighborhood gossip, mysterious rumors, and lively festivals throughout the story.
- Fully Voiced — All characters, major and minor, have fully voiced dialogue.
- Customizable Appearance — Character appearances can be customized to the player's liking.
- Extracurricular Activities — Explore the island, go diving for clams, play the board game “Forests and Fairies,” or join a forest expedition with the Green Sprites club.
